In this role with the Android Auto team, you will build next level experiences in cars where a critical component of our strategy is enabling developers to build applications for automotive platforms optimized for drivers, for common use cases like Navigation, Media and Communications. You will be responsible for building frameworks that make developers jobs easier by abstracting hardware variability between cars and providing solutions that are driver distraction aware. You will expand the range of applications enabled in cars, bridging the gap between system capabilities and the needs of developers. As a member of the engineering team, your responsibilities are geared towards building components and infrastructure for the framework that powers applications in Automotive.

• Write product or system development code, participate in, or lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders to decide amongst available technologies.
• Review code developed by other developers and provide feedback to ensure best practices (e.g., style guidelines, checking code in, accuracy, testability, and efficiency).
• Contribute to existing documentation or educational content and adapt content based on product/program updates and user feedback.
• Triage product or system issues and debug/track/resolve by analyzing the sources of issues and the impact on hardware, network, or service operations and quality.
• Contribute to the development of the Car App Library, a cross-platform environment to build Automotive applications, and build understanding and expertise on building APIs and frameworks for third-party developers.
