EditShare exists to simplify storytelling. We enable media professionals to collaborate on projects thanks to our ever-expanding range of innovative products and features, all designed to improve production and unleash creativity. Integration and collaboration are central to all products in our comprehensive range of media management solutions - from ingest to archive.


EditShare is seeking a full-time, highly talented developer eager to work on GNU/Linux-based video workflow products in our Warsaw, Poland office. This is a hybrid position that requires at least 2 days a week in our office. Your will be a member of our Storage team working on the Editshare file system (EFS) and its surrounding components. Technologies in our products span the entire computing stack, from low-level kernel modules and optimizations to high-performance distributed storage and network applications, to user-facing client applications.

Problems You’ll Solve

In the first 3 months you will:

  • Come up to speed with the Editshare storage architecture and code base.
  • Help to evaluate technical options for future features.
  • Find and address defects in the storage code base.

In the first 6 months you will:

  • Maintain and extend our storage client.
  • Pick up and deliver on backlog items.
  • Support the rollout of our new ultimate series servers.
  • Evaluate an optimize the performance of individual components

In the first 9 months you will:

  • Create RESTful endpoints to support a common API for customers’ programmatic clients, our test harnesses, and our emerging Web client
  • Contribute to single sign on (SSO) design and implementation for our network storage clients
  • Help to improve for our high availability architecture


What We’re Looking For

  • 3 to 5 years’ experience in industry with a computer science background or degree.
  • Python and either C or C++—our primary programming languages
  • Proficiency in English (both written and spoken)

GNU/Linux is our primary platform. If you also have any of the following skills, they are also desirable.

  • Experience with client/server applications
  • MySQL, MariaDB, PostgreSQL, or other open-source databases
  • Qt, GTK+, or another open-source GUI toolkit
  • JavaScript
  • Debian packaging
  • Video editing applications such as Avid and Final Cut Pro
  • Video codecs and wrappers like MXF and QuickTime
