About the project

In this role, you will lead the development of innovative software solutions within a dynamic engineering environment, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver meaningful results.

You will drive key engineering decisions, elevate software quality, and bring structure and clarity to a complex, multi-team ecosystem.

You will have a strong influence on the evolution of the platform, guide practices across teams, and help foster a modern, product-driven engineering culture.

Your responsibilities

  • Lead hybrid teams (internal staff & suppliers) distributed across multiple sites and geographies.
  • Work closely with IS Business Manufacturing teams, Infrastructure/Security/DevOps teams, and business stakeholders.
  • Define, challenge, and arbitrate technological directions while ensuring a coherent and sustainable architecture.
  • Implement and oversee delivery tools and practices (CI/CD, security, automation).
  • Manage technical debt and drive associated remediation plans.
  • Establish and monitor engineering KPIs related to productivity, velocity, quality, and delivery reliability.
  • Track development costs and team effort, ensuring overall delivery efficiency.
  • Prioritize and orchestrate Build and Run activities: continuity, incident management, service quality, and platform availability.
  • Guide teams in writing clean, maintainable, and testable code.
  • Oversee the full software development lifecycle: design, implementation, testing, deployment, and support.
  • Simplify complex technical topics and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Foster alignment, collaboration, and cohesion across teams without direct hierarchical authority.
  • Ensure platform performance, availability, and security compliance in partnership with Infrastructure, Security, and DevOps teams.

Employer requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in software engineering, including 5+ years in technical leadership.
  • Proven experience leading multiple teams or large-scale software initiatives.
  • Ability to design, challenge, and justify complex architectural decisions.
  • Strong command of the full SDLC and agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban).
  • Expertise in CI/CD, DevSecOps, automation, testing, and application security.
  • Cloud-native experience - AWS or GCP (Experience deploying solutions in China is a plus).
  • Ability to define a long-term technical vision and structure an actionable roadmap.
  • Solid software background across backend, frontend, and data architecture.
  • Strong understanding of APIs, microservices, distributed systems, and asynchronous programming.
  • Good knowledge of databases and data modeling.
  • Exposure to Edge / OT / industrial environments is appreciated.
  • Good understanding of IS/IT environments: network, DMZ, security, cloud governance.
  • High standards for quality, performance, and reliability.
  • Knowledge of or interest in using AI to enhance developer productivity.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence without authority and make decisions under uncertainty.
  • Strong focus on value, quality, and business impact.
  • Resilience, adaptability, and a collaborative mindset.
