For our Client we are currently looking for Candidates with 5+ years experience for the position of: Snowflake Developer (at least 3+ years, up to 10 years)
Location: Warsaw, Poland
Type of contract: B2B contract (via Hays Poland)
Cooperation: long‑term
Start date: ASAP / max. 1 month
Remote work: Hybrid
Rate: market rate - up to 180zł/h
Responsibilities:
- Analyse business requirements and translate them into technical Snowflake-based solutions
- Design, develop, and implement ETL/ELT pipelines supporting migration from Teradata to Snowflake
- Build and maintain data pipelines using Snowflake and IDMC, ensuring high performance and scalability
- Create and manage Snowflake objects: tables, views, schemas, stages, stored procedures
- Implement partitioning, clustering, and advanced performance tuning strategies
- Work with Snowflake features including Snowpipe, Streams, Tasks, Time Travel, external stages, RBAC
- Develop and maintain data models, schemas, stored procedures, and reusable automation scripts
- Optimize data storage, warehouse sizing, and query performance while monitoring cost usage
- Automate data ingestion from multiple sources, including SaaS integrations (dbt Cloud, Fivetran, Databricks, etc.)
- Rewrite and optimize Teradata SQL scripts, macros, and procedures for Snowflake compatibility
- Conduct data validation and reconciliation between Teradata and Snowflake after migration
- Maintain data governance, access control, encryption, and security best practices
- Document processes, standards, and migration best practices
- Collaborate with architects, analysts, and business stakeholders to deliver data solutions
Qualifications:
- Strong hands-on experience with Snowflake as a cloud data warehouse
- Knowledge of key Snowflake capabilities: Time Travel, Cloning, Micro‑partitions, Streams & Tasks
- Experience with external stages, Snowpipe, storage integration, file formats, RBAC
- Strong SQL skills and experience with relational databases (Teradata, Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, etc.)
- Experience in data engineering, ETL/ELT development, and large-scale data migrations
- Understanding of Teradata architecture, SQL, and utilities (BTEQ, FastLoad, MultiLoad, TPT)
- Experience implementing CI/CD and DevOps practices for data workflows
- Proficiency in scripting languages for automation: Python, Shell
- Experience with analytical problem-solving and optimizing large data workloads
- Very good communication skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams
- Fluent English – written and spoken
Nice to have:
- Snowflake SnowPro Certification
- Experience in banking or financial services
- Experience with modern data stack tools: dbt, Databricks, Fivetran
- Knowledge of data modeling standards and best practices
- Exposure to IDMC or other enterprise integration tools
- Experience in high-scale cloud environments
