For our Client we are currently looking for Candidates with 5+ years experience for the position of: Snowflake Administrator (at least 3+ years, up to 10 years)
Location: Warsaw, Poland
Type of contract: B2B contract (via Hays Poland)
Cooperation: long-term
Start date: ASAP / max. 1 month
Remote work: Hybrid
Rate: market rate – up to 170zł/h
Responsibilities:
- Configure and maintain Snowflake environments to ensure performance, stability, and reliability
- Provide hands-on database administration support for Snowflake users and engineering teams
- Implement monitoring, maintenance automation, and cost optimization practices
- Manage user accounts, roles, RBAC structures, and secure access policies
- Configure warehouses, databases, schemas, resource monitors, and storage integrations
- Develop and maintain incident management processes; resolve platform and performance issues
- Enforce security standards including encryption, authentication, and access control policies
- Automate administrative tasks using scripting (Python, Shell, PowerShell) and orchestration tools
- Ensure platform scalability, high availability, and reliability across Snowflake workloads
- Oversee backups, failover, replication, and disaster recovery operations
- Monitor and tune Snowflake performance, including warehouse sizing and query optimization
- Troubleshoot issues related to queries, connections, integrations, or Snowflake services
- Manage external stages, Snowpipe, file formats, and storage integrations
- Document configurations, standards, best practices, and operational procedures
Qualifications:
- Deep understanding of Snowflake architecture (storage/compute separation, micro-partitions, caching)
- Strong experience in Snowflake administration: user management, warehouses, roles, resource monitors
- Expertise with Snowflake features: Time Travel, Cloning, Micro‑partitions, Streams & Tasks
- Experience with private connectivity, network policies, authentication methods, and secure access models
- Hands-on experience with Snowpipe, external stages, RBAC, storage integration, and file formats
- Experience with AWS/Azure/GCP and Snowflake cloud integrations
- Understanding of DevOps or CI/CD workflows for data pipelines and configurations
- Strong SQL skills, including query optimization and performance troubleshooting
- Proficiency in scripting (Python / Shell / PowerShell) for automation
- Solid understanding of Snowflake costs, warehouse scaling, and optimization strategies
- Knowledge of cloning, replication, and disaster recovery in Snowflake
- Strong analytical and communication skills
- Fluent English – written and spoken
Nice to have:
- Snowflake SnowPro Certification
- Experience in enterprise security, compliance, or data governance frameworks
- Experience supporting large-scale Snowflake deployments in corporate environments
- Exposure to monitoring tools and orchestration platforms
- Experience in banking or financial services
