Management Accounting Specialist – GSK

Join GSK’s finance team as a trusted business partner, delivering timely, accurate month‑end reporting and supporting costing, control and audit activities. Drive excellence in SMAS processes and help foster a high‑performance, control‑focused finance culture across the site.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver assigned SMAS processes according to the SMAS operating model and Service Level Agreements, ensuring full compliance with GSK and external accounting policies.
  • Operate according to governance frameworks, policies and internal controls; prepare reconciliations for Balance Sheet accounts and other relevant accounting controls.
  • Partner with Site Finance to review results against plans and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Build strong working relationships with customer groups and stakeholders, managing expectations and communicating effectively in all interactions.
  • Manage own time to ensure assigned processes are performed and delivered on agreed timelines and standard work approach.
  • Seek development and improvement to deliver a level of expertise in assigned process for the benefit of SMAS group and site customers.
  • Actively support continuous improvement within the cluster and across SMAS, striving for standardization and improved performance to support delivery of wider organisational objectives.
  • Support Annual Standard Setting and Product Costing processes.
  • Support additional processes across SMAS scope as required.

Qualifications & Skills

  • 2–3 years of post‑qualification experience in accounting‑related fields.
  • Knowledge of management accounting and reporting, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Fluent in written and oral English.
  • Effective time‑management skills against agreed deadlines.
  • Expert Excel skills; experience with MERPs and other GSK financial systems (ICT, Siera, BISON) preferred.
  • Strong communication skills; confident interacting with all levels across finance and non‑finance functions.
  • Flexibility, a ‘can‑do’ attitude and a drive to achieve tasks.
  • Team‑working skills; able to provide and receive support within a small team of colleagues.
  • Knowledge of data analytics tools preferred.
