The objective of the project is to professionalize, standardize, and prepare an existing Slack environment for future expansion. The Slack environment is already operational; however, it requires structural, organizational, and technical optimization to ensure scalability, governance compliance, and readiness for onboarding additional companies into a shared Slack ecosystem.

This phase focuses on a comprehensive analysis, concept development, and implementation of selected Quick Wins (e.g., SSO with Microsoft Entra ID, auto-start configurations), delivering immediate business value. In parallel, the project establishes a solid foundation for a structured, secure, and maintainable Slack ecosystem that supports collaboration across multiple organizational entities.

Slack Platform Administrator - Governance & Optimization Consultant

Your responsibilities

• Review existing integrations, applications, workflows, and security settings.
• Identify gaps, redundancies, security risks, and optimization opportunities.
• Prepare a structured analytical report summarizing findings and prioritizing recommended actions.
• Conduct a comprehensive assessment of the current Slack environment
• Perform administrative activities to ensure a secure, stable, and compliant Slack environment.
• Align user access, Slack Connect usage, roles, and permissions with governance and security requirements.
• Configure and optimize Slack security settings, compliance controls, and approval workflows.
• Manage and optimize existing integrations, applications, and automations based on analysis and business needs.
• Prepare and support the environment for future SSO and IAM extensions (Google and Microsoft as identity providers).
• Enable and refine Slack features (e.g., Workflow Builder, integrations, administrative policies) to improve collaboration efficiency.
• Support the creation and implementation of governance principles, templates, and guidelines.
• Ensure Slack environment scalability for onboarding additional companies.
• Document all implemented improvements and deliver updated configuration and governance documentation.

Our requirements

• In-depth knowledge of Slack administration, workspace configuration, and platform governance.
• Strong understanding of Slack security configurations, permission models, and compliance settings.
• Proven ability to design scalable channel architectures and workspace structures.
• Experience in building and operationalizing collaboration models across multiple organizations.
• Experience in Identity & Access Management (IAM).
• Hands-on experience with SSO implementations (e.g., Azure AD / Microsoft Entra ID).
• Knowledge of Slack integrations, APIs, and Slack Connect.
• Experience working with cross-functional stakeholders (IT, Security, Product, Communications, etc.).
• Knowledge of onboarding processes for new business units or companies into shared collaboration platforms.
• Understanding of data separation, access restrictions, and cross-tenant collaboration challenges.
• Ability to independently implement Quick Wins and smaller configuration changes.
