Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) Manager plays a crucial role in leading and managing a team of SREs to ensure the reliability, scalability, and performance of an organizations software systems and services.
Working with a highly talented team, youll play a leadership role to build and run one of the world’s largest automotive and industrial replacement parts operations. This is an engineering leadership role with responsibility for implementing SRE principles for the organization. This individual must be a technologist & engineer at heart and be comfortable in understanding the technology direction and being hands on with the execution of the strategy. She/he must exhibit a deep understanding of modern technology stack , demonstrated focus on customer experience. Close collaboration and alignment with a wide variety of both internal stakeholders and external vendors will be required. As such, exceptional abilities in building and maintaining strong working relationships and organizational savvy will be required. High level communication and presentation skills are required. Ability to attract, retain, and develop engineering talent will be critical.
responsibilities :
Partnering with the cross-functional GPC team, to support product initiatives.
Implement the technology platforms architecture and execute on roadmap to support various microservices.
Publish KPI metrics for the services supported.
Manage and motivate a team of engineers to develop best-in-class solutions.
Partner with peer leaders to reduce SRE toil.
Provide Production Support ensuring high availability of services supported.
Responsible and handling multiple domains and being the single POC for internal development teams.
Able to juggle multiple projects - can identify primary and secondary objectives, prioritize time, and communicate timeline to team members.
requirements-expected :
Several years of experience as an SRE, or similar roles involving site reliability, system administration, or infrastructure management.
Experience leading and managing a team of SREs.
Strong knowledge of software development practices, infrastructure automation, and cloud technologies.
Proficiency in programming and scripting languages (e.g., Python, Go, Bash, etc.).
Experience with configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Chef) and infrastructure as code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation).
Deep understanding of containerization and orchestration technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
Knowledge of monitoring and observability tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, NewRelic, Cloud monitoring) for ensuring system health and performance.
Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud, Azure) Google Cloud is preferred.
Strong leadership and mentoring skills to guide and develop the SRE team.
Excellent communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams including software developers, product managers, and operations.
Problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities to address complex technical challenges and incidents.
Strong project management skills to plan and execute initiatives aimed at improving system reliability and performance.
Adaptability and a willingness to stay up to date with the latest technologies and industry best practices.
In-depth understanding of Site Reliability Engineering principles, including error budgets, service level objectives (SLOs), incident response, and post-incident analysis.
Experience implementing and optimizing continuous integration, continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
Awareness of security best practices and experience integrating security measures into SRE processes.
