Senior Site Reliability Engineer – Remote
Join the SRE team at Akamai, where we leverage large datasets to analyze and measure the performance and reliability of our platform. You’ll work with cross‑functional teams to diagnose and solve some of the Internets most difficult content delivery challenges. This role is not a QA, DevOps, or Operations position, but a senior engineering‑focused SRE.
Responsibilities
- Lead SRE teams, providing technical mentorship, feedback, and project guidelines.
- Drive partnership with Engineering, Operations, and Product teams to guide adoption of new features and processes.
- Apply analytical skills and statistical insights to identify performance bottlenecks and reliability challenges and propose solutions.
- Define, implement, and mine data feeds from third‑party and internal sources to produce insights that influence company decision‑making.
- Influence high‑level company decisions on technology investments.
- Build software tools and systems to automate analytical tasks and workflows, increasing efficiency and reliability.
Qualifications
- Relevant experience and a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
- Analytical background with experience as a statistical data analyst.
- Proficiency in at least one of: Python, Perl, SQL, Java, C, R.
- Experience with Internet protocols (DNS, HTTP, TLS, TCP).
- Proven ability to deliver insightful technical feedback.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills, able to convey technical information clearly.
