Role Overview

The European Shareholder Services Team, part of the Investment Operations unit, manages client instructions related to subscription and redemption activities for portfolios managed globally by SSGA. The team ensures accurate, timely processing and communication of these instructions to the Investment Management team.

Within SSGA Poland, the Shareholder Services team is part of the global Shareholder Services function. We seek a Manager to lead the Krakow team and their processes. This Vice President level role reports to the Head of EMEA Shareholder Services and the local Head of Operations. The position offers a hybrid work model, balancing remote and office work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assign responsibilities, lead, motivate, and ensure timely task completion.
  • Oversee accurate and prompt processing of client instructions, adhering to control requirements.
  • Manage transfer agency tasks and compliance with UK COLL regulations.
  • Monitor daily processes and controls, stepping in when necessary.
  • Develop and support team members through goal setting, performance reviews, and talent development.
  • Manage operational risk, review processes, and ensure procedures are current.
  • Promote continuous improvement, feedback, and effective challenge within operations.
  • Maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, policies, and regulations, including AML awareness.
  • Contribute to strategic planning and define multi-site operating models.
  • Oversee activity transfers between locations, focusing on risk mitigation and service continuity.
  • Collaborate with peers to ensure consistent operating models and share best practices.
  • Participate in meetings and governance forums, and lead key projects for process efficiency.
  • Support broader operational and strategic objectives of SSGA.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Degree in finance or related field preferred.
  • Proficiency in English; additional languages advantageous.
  • 10+ years of experience in Investment Operations or Transfer Agency is desirable.
