IT Systems Software Analysis & Programming focuses on programming & configuration of IT Systems Software (i.e. software for use in operating/controlling hardware and providing a platform for running internal end user/business applications). This role will be responsible for designing, creating, and executing automated test scripts using ServiceNows Automated Test Framework (ATF) to verify the functionality of custom applications, configurations, and updates within the ServiceNow platform. Additionally, this role will be responsible for collaborating with Alcon application owners to model and onboard applications into ServiceNow according to Alcon’s Common Services Data Model (CSDM) and driving Continuous Service Improvement (CSI) initiatives, application modeling, and onboarding into ServiceNow.
In this role, a typical day will include:
- Collaborate with business to gather and analyze requirements, design, and configure solutions in ServiceNow product suites to address the business requirements.
- Support the implementation and maintenance of an automated testing framework for ServiceNow applications, ensuring high-quality delivery of the platform.
- Monitor and report on the status of automated tests, ensuring that testing efforts align with release schedules.
- Collaborate with Alcon application owners to model and onboard applications into ServiceNow according to Alcon’s Common Services Data Model (CSDM).
- Conduct data mapping and validation tasks to ensure consistent, accurate, and comprehensive data flow.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure that CSDM principles are followed in the configuration of ServiceNow modules and integrations.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to identify Continuous Service Improvement (CSI) initiatives and implement according to Alcon’s agile development and release process.
- Document system configurations, requirements, testing procedures, and best practices to ensure knowledge transfer and consistency across the team.
- Recommend improvements to processes, systems, and tools to enhance efficiency and service delivery.
- Provide training and support to end users on ServiceNow functionalities related to automated testing and CSDM.
- Follow the established agile development and release process for prioritizing and managing the story/feature releases and deployments through update set movement across instances.
- Collaborate with the ServiceNow product support team for any product issues identified by Alcon users.
- Collaborate with Alcon’s ServiceNow platform architect to ensure adherence of the solutions with the architecture guideline and best practices.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO ALCON:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a combination of education and experience is required.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience with the ServiceNow Platform.
- Hands-on experience in Automated Test Framework (ATF) development, maintenance, and automated regression testing.
- Hands-on experience in Common Service Data Model (CSDM) and Service Modeling.
- Proficient in data mapping, data modeling, and data validation.
- Hands-on experience in Continuous Service Improvement (CSI).
- Strong understanding of Service Management (ITIL) principles and practices.
- Familiarity with ServiceNow modules such as ITSM, ITOM, or HRSD is preferred.
- Strong understanding and experience in project/product management processes, including stakeholder collaboration, product backlog development, release planning, and execution in a global Agile team environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on delivering business value through technology solutions.
- Excellent presentation, negotiation skills, and commercial awareness.
- Understanding of the medical device and/or contact lens industry, working in a validated environment covering CSA+, GxP, and SOX-relevant processes is advantageous.
- Understanding of Cloud Discovery and Service Mapping.
- Experience working in a cross-cultural, globally distributed scrum team following Agile best practices.
- ServiceNow Certified System Administrator certification (mandatory).
- ServiceNow Automated Test Framework (ATF) Administrator certification (mandatory).
- Working knowledge of ServiceNow Orchestration, Flow Designer, and IntegrationHub is a plus.
- Fluent in English (spoken and written). Additional language proficiency is preferred.
