DESCRIPTION:

We are seeking a talented and experienced Service Reliability Engineer to join our dynamic team. As a SRE you will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability, scalability, and performance of our services and infrastructure. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and maintain robust systems that meet the needs of our customers and stakeholders.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. System Monitoring and Incident Response

Implement and maintain monitoring solutions to ensure the health and performance of our systems and services.

Respond promptly to incidents, troubleshoot issues, and implement effective solutions to minimize downtime and impact on customers.

1. Infrastructure Automation and Configuration Management

Develop and maintain automation scripts and tools to streamline the deployment and configuration of infrastructure components.

Implement infrastructure as code principles to ensure consistency, reliability, and scalability across environments.

1. Capacity Planning and Performance Optimizations

Analyze system performance metrics and trends to identify potential bottlenecks and scalability limitations.

Collaborate with engineering teams to optimize systems performance and resource utilization through capacity planning and performance tuning.

1. Reliability Engineering Best Practice

Adhere to reliability best practices and methodologies within the organization.

Drive initiatives to improve system reliability, fault tolerance, and disaster recovery capabilities.

1. Cross Functional Collaboration

Work closely with Software Engineers, DevOps engineers, and other stakeholders to define and implement reliability requirements for new and existing services.

Participate in design and code reviews and incident post-mortems to ensure continuous improvement and learning.

REQUIREMENTS:

1. Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or similar Computing discipline
2. Fluent English (international environment/team)
3. Proven Experience in a similar role, with a focus on reliability engineering, systems administration and/or DevOps
4. Knowledge and experience in all phases of the software development lifecycle
5. Knowledge and experience in Agile and DevOps development practices
6. Hands-on experience in CICD pipeline design and implementation for on-prem and cloud environments
7. Hands-on experience in test automation design and implementation for front-end and back-end components
8. Strong proficiency in scripting and automation using languages such as Python, Unix shell or PowerShell.
9. Solid understanding of cloud computing platforms (preferably GCP ) and experience with IaC tools (e.g., Terraform)
10. Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, and ELK stack or similar
11. Self-motivated and willing to learn new technologies and business domains.
12. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced collaborative environment.
13. Familiarity with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
14. Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams located remotely.

ESSENTIAL TECHNICAL SKILLS/CERTS:

1. Application monitoring and test automation best practices and tools
2. Working with API and microservice technologies
3. Cloud technologies: (GCP)

NICE TO HAVE:

1. Additional skills/certs (an advantage)
2. Python, SPARK
3. Columnar Database (Clickhouse)
4. Scrum master knowledge or certified, or PMP certified.
5. FRM or CFA certified
6. Desired experience (an advantage)
7. Knowledge of Financial Risk management in the banking or the financial industry
8. Knowledge specific to the Traded Risk domain
9. Knowledge of OLAP and ETL
10. Knowledge of new and emerging technologies such as Cloud, Big Data, AI etc.
11. Knowledge of banking policies, processes, and procedures is an advantage
