As a UX Designer at N‑able, your job is to enable those superheroes to do their job, and honestly, that’s awesome.
N‑able is seeking a creative, data centric and highly motivated Senior UX Designer to become a valued member of our Cove product team and to bring simplicity and delight to superheroes users. As part of an experienced UX team of Designers and Researchers, you’ll work collaboratively with cross‑functional teams including product managers, development, product marketing, executives, architecture and other company stakeholders.
You bring a strong customer focus, with a data‑driven approach. You work well with minimal direction but you’re big on collaboration; you stand up for the users’ needs, and you thrive in a fast‑paced environment. We work in a culture of empowered, persistent product teams — UX researchers and designers, as well as documentation team, are not service providers but key contributors shaping what the product should be.
The role of the senior is similar to that of an independent and effective worker. You have a broad, detailed knowledge of UX skills and methods, product knowledge and working practices. A highly capable employee, senior roles should operate independently with confidence and be able to support others as well as consider initiatives to improve the UX function.
What You’ll Do
- Proven experience leading end‑to‑end design projects – from research to ideation to final delivery.
- Work as a team with Research, PM, Engineering and Architecture to drive discovery, promote value and reduce risks with usability and technical feasibility.
- Take complex, technical problems and distil them down into simple and intuitive design solutions.
- Champion and understand user needs while defining UX opportunities and identifying use cases.
- Familiarity with analytics and metrics tools such as HotJar, Pendo, or similar tools.
- Create design solutions (sketches, wireframes, user flows, high‑fidelity mock‑ups, etc.) quickly to show product teams how we can solve user problems.
- Thoughtfully incorporate feedback from many channels (product team members, users, usability testing, quantitative analytics, etc.) into design.
- Create interactive prototypes for remote usability testing.
- Contribute to UI design and development best practices and standards within the company.
- Help drive best practice in what we do and how we do it, have ideas, see opportunities and find ways to make yourself and our team get better and better.
What You’ll Bring
- 3‑5 years in a UX role and or previous work experience in similar or related industry.
- Expert UX skills.
- Basic ability to mentor/lead associates and UX designer/researchers.
- Deep knowledge and experience with design tools such as Adobe, Figma, and similar tools.
- Experience working in SaaS product development companies is an asset.
- Early experience with AI prototyping tools is a plus.
- Understanding of the business landscape of disaster recovery, backup, and cybersecurity is an asset.
- Extensive prototyping experience.
- Understanding of Lean, Agile, Scrum or similar product development approaches.
- Previous experience of developing and owning UX improvement initiatives.
- Basic understanding of identifying opportunities and driving the process to shape and grow the business.
