What You Will Be Doing

Tax Compliance and Reporting: Manage the preparation, review, and submission of various tax returns and reports, ensuring compliance with local tax regulations. Maintain an accurate and timely filing schedule, monitor changes in tax laws, and implement necessary adjustments to ensure ongoing compliance and accuracy. Focus on Eastern and Southern Europe countries (e.g., Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Baltics). The region or country may change as needed.

Audit Support and Documentation: Provide essential support during tax audits, including preparing and organizing documentation, responding to auditor inquiries, and helping to resolve any issues that arise. Maintain comprehensive and organized tax records to facilitate efficient audit processes.

Tax Controls: Proactively review and supervise existing local GAAP reporting, recommend improvements or alternatives, and implement them. Define, develop, and implement system‑driven procedures and controls that secure tax processes. Initiate, develop, and support projects related to international corporate tax matters.

Communication: Establish and maintain contacts with peers within the FedEx network and across departments to maintain alignment. Manage relationships with external consultants and government bodies such as tax authorities and industry associations.

What Do You Bring With You

  • Excellent language skills (written and verbal). English professional proficiency is a must. Additional language beyond English and native language is a plus.
  • Diploma in Tax Law, Economics, Accounting, or CPA.
  • Knowledge of tax accounting.
  • Excellent soft skills including communication, flexibility, innovative thinking, exposure to senior management, analytical skills, judgment, decision making, and the ability to work independently.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in tax compliance (experience with a consultancy firm [big‑4 is a plus).
