What You Will Be Doing

• Tax Compliance and Reporting: Manage the preparation, review, and submission of various tax returns and reports, ensuring compliance with local tax regulations. Maintain an accurate and timely filing schedule, monitor changes in tax laws, and implement necessary adjustments. Focus on tax accounting following the tax compliance process, especially in Eastern/Southern Europe (e.g., Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Baltics). Region/country focus may change.
• Audit Support and Documentation: Support during tax audits by preparing and organizing documentation, responding to inquiries, and resolving issues. Maintain comprehensive tax records for compliance and efficient audits.
• Tax Controls: Review and supervise local GAAP reporting, recommend improvements, and implement procedures and controls to secure tax processes. Support projects related to international corporate tax matters, ensuring consistent local implementation. Operate with high technical expertise and autonomy.
• Communication: Establish and maintain contacts within FedEx and with external bodies (tax authorities, industry associations). Manage relationships with external consultants and government bodies.

What Do You Bring With You

• Excellent language skills (written/verbal). Professional proficiency in English is required; additional languages are a plus.
• Diploma in Tax Law, Economics, Accounting, CPA, or equivalent.
• Knowledge of tax accounting.
• Strong soft skills: communication, flexibility, innovative thinking, ability to deal with management, analytical skills, judgment, decision-making, independence.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in tax compliance; experience with a Big-4 consultancy is a plus.
