Core Responsibilities

• Administer and optimise Linux-based servers for media production workflows (subtitling, dubbing, A/V processing).
• Have knowledge in script automation or related tools (Python, etc) to streamline operations.
• Storage Infrastructure:
• Manage and troubleshoot NAS/SAN systems (Qumulo, Synology, QNAP, Quantastor) and iSCSI configurations.
• Oversee workflows for media asset distribution and archival.
• Maintain VMware environments (vSphere/ESXi), ensuring high availability for critical workloads.
• Administer backup/archival solutions (Veeam, StorNext), including disaster recovery testing.
• Microsoft Ecosystem:
• Manage on-premises Windows Server, Active Directory, PKI, DNS/DHCP, and SCCM.
• Administer cloud resources (MS365, Azure/Entra ID, Intune) for hybrid environments.
• Configure and monitor WithSecure EDR for threat detection/response across EU offices.
• Manage secure access for remote employees and freelancers, including Zero Trust and VPN solutions.

Technical Leadership & Team Management

• Lead and mentor a team of IT specialists, prioritising hands‑on technical guidance in Linux, virtualisation, and storage systems.
• Act as the final escalation point for complex infrastructure issues, including VMware, SAN/NAS performance, and Microsoft stack troubleshooting.
• Develop and enforce global standards for system configurations, backups, and security protocols.
• Ensure 99.9%+ uptime for critical systems supporting subtitle/dubbing workflows, media asset management, and A/V production pipelines.
• Evaluate emerging technologies (AI‑driven automation, hybrid cloud) to enhance operational efficiency.

Regional Operations & Cross‑Regional Support

• Direct IT operations for EU offices, including hardware/software lifecycle management.
• Provide technical escalation support to APAC and Americas teams for VMware, storage, and Microsoft‑related challenges.
• Train regional teams on system administration, troubleshooting, and compliance.

Compliance & Budgeting

• Ensure adherence to IT security policies and licensing compliance for Microsoft/VMware environments.
• Support cross‑regional audits, vulnerability assessments, and ISO 27001 compliance initiatives.
• Partner with department heads to forecast IT needs, design scalable solutions, and allocate resources for media production workflows (subtitling, dubbing, A/V distribution).
• Drive cost‑effective technology procurement, vendor negotiations, and license management (Microsoft 365, Azure, VMware).
• Assist in annual IT budgeting, focusing on cost‑effective procurement of storage, backup, and virtualisation resources.

Technical Expertise & Skills

Mandatory Requirements

• Fluent English (written and spoken) with experience leading cross‑cultural teams and experience in working with global teams.
• Linux: Advanced administration, scripting, performance tuning.
• Storage Systems: Qumulo, Synology, QNAP, Quantastor, DDP workflows, iSCSI/NAS/SAN.
• Virtualisation: VMware vSphere/ESXi, VM optimisation, and clustering.
• Backup/Archival: Veeam, StorNext (media‑focused archival expertise preferred).
• Security: WithSecure EDR implementation and threat response.
