Senior Statutory Accountant with Italian

Hybrid location: Wrocław, Warszawa, Kraków or Gdańsk.

As a Senior Statutory Accountant, you will be a key member of the EMEA Statutory Team, preparing a set of financial statements in close collaboration with the country lead and strong engagement with tax teams, including collaboration in DXC quarterly tax forecasting exercises.

Responsibilities

• Preparation of financial statements according to Italian GAAP.
• Conversion from management GAAP to Country GAAP.
• On‑going statutory accounting review and booking of adjustments.
• Day‑to‑day queries on these companies.
• Liaise with business owners and Global Finance Teams to clear anomalies, errors, or omissions and with auditors to clear audit queries.
• Prepare an annual set of financial statements and applicable notes following local GAAP.
• Conduct ongoing statutory accounting reviews and bookings of adjustments and reclassifications needed to comply with local accounting and tax laws.
• Keep the Local GAAP Assets Accounts database up to date.
• Monitor standard activities to ensure potential balance sheet risk areas are managed.
• Deal with ad‑hoc accounting queries when they occur.
• Ensure centers of excellence account for transactions correctly.
• Resolve issues between Finance and partners on an ad‑hoc basis.
• Prepare National Statistics Forms.
• Prepare OPEX legal variance and analysis as per local chart of account required disclosure – statutory results YoY and quarterly variances.
• Taxation: Prepare required information in consultation with the tax department and the country accounting team to complete tax returns on a monthly and yearly basis.
• Assist in the monthly tax compliance procedures.

Knowledge and Skills Required

• Fluent in English and Italian.
• Experience in preparing a full set of financial statements according to Italian GAAP.
• Excellent understanding of accounting principles and financial analysis.
• Excellent analytical skills.
• Excellent business application skills – Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint.
• Excellent communication skills and superior teamwork skills, ability to influence multiple organisations.
• First‑level university degree focused on business or economics, advanced degree and accounting certification (e.g., CPA, ACCA or equivalent) or master’s degree in accounting and auditing/controlling.
