TL; DR: Photoroom is looking for a talented Senior/Staff Applied Scientist to work on ML solutions from requirements to product, owning the process, contributing to an open‑source diffusion model, and impacting millions of users.

About The Role

  • You are the eleventh engineer in the ML team, working alongside great talent from various backgrounds.
  • You will have full ownership of your ML work streams when applicable, or work with teammates on big topics.
  • You will master the whole pipeline, from training models to putting them into production and monitoring performance.
  • You will work on new features, new applications, and 0→1 solutions.
  • You will get fast feedback from our users and iterate quickly, making data‑driven decisions.
  • You will work within a small multicultural team of ~75 passionate, friendly & committed folks.

About You

  • 3+ years of experience with PyTorch, Tensorflow or Jax, and willingness to work with PyTorch.
  • Extensive experience with diffusion models for image creation or editing; trained diffusion models from scratch or performed deep surgery on pretrained models.
  • You are the most pragmatic person in the room, favoring speed of iteration over perfection and leveraging frameworks to avoid reinventing the wheel.
  • You have experience working on product‑level complex architectures.
  • You have a strong sense of ownership, initiative, and product & technical decision experience.
  • You have worked as part of a talented team in a fast‑growing startup.
  • You are curious, comfortable explaining or learning as needed, and value knowledge sharing and humility.
  • You are fluent in English (French not required).
