About the Role

Splunk is looking for enthusiastic and innovative Software Engineers to join our Splunk Observability team who will work on systems that empower our customers to detect and resolve their infrastructure and application issues quickly. You will collaborate closely with architects, product managers, and some of the industrys brightest minds to design and implement modern, scalable, reliable systems that serve as the backbone of Splunk Observability products. We are passionate about solving customers’ problems and building best-of-its-kind products, and you will help us win in this fast-growing market.

Responsibilities

1. Follow the best software development practices and set the high engineering bar for the team by regularly leading design, code review, and test plan reviews.
2. Incorporate excellence in reliability, scalability, and performance in the design of distributed systems.
3. Lead or own the design of new systems and drive the implementations.
4. Identify improvement opportunities in areas of engineering excellence and operation excellence and make them a reality.
5. Participate in on-call rotations, post-incident reviews, and other operational duties to ensure service delivery quality.
6. Debug and provide solutions or fixes to customer-reported issues or requirements.
7. Help the team estimate work across sprints and quarters.
8. Contribute to growing new engineers through design & code review, tech talks, mentoring, and pair programming.

Requirements

1. You are passionate about building, observing, and operating distributed systems at scale in production.
2. You understand the challenges and trade-offs to be made when building and deploying systems to production.
3. You have a solid foundation in computer science, with strong competencies in operating systems, networks, data structures, algorithms, distributed systems, and software design.
4. Excellent problem-solving, collaboration, and communication skills, both verbal and written.
5. A demonstrated capability for creative thinking, intellectual and entrepreneurial exploration.
6. Experience developing, debugging, and performance tuning highly concurrent systems.
7. Ability to lead complicated technical decisions and mentor other junior engineers.
8. Solid knowledge and production programming experience in at least one of Java/C#/Go.
9. Experience with test-driven development, developing different levels of automated tests, such as unit test, functional test, integration test, system test, or performance/load test.
10. Experience with 1 or more relational databases & NoSQL databases.
11. Prior experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, and GCP.
12. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related majors; 8+ years of relevant proven experience.

Base Pay Range

Poland

Base Pay: PLN 248,000.00 - 341,000.00 per year

Splunk provides flexibility and choice in the working arrangement for most roles, including remote and/or in-office roles. We have a market-based pay structure which varies by location. Please note that the base pay range is a guideline and for candidates who receive an offer, the base pay will vary based on factors such as work location as set out above, as well as the knowledge, skills, and experience of the candidate. In addition to base pay, this role is eligible for incentive compensation and may be eligible for equity or long-term cash awards.
