Overview

We are seeking a talented Integration Platforms Engineer specializing in Event Driven Integration to join our dynamic team. You will play a pivotal role developing and evolving the cloud based Kafka and API Gateway platforms our engineering squads rely upon. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration, optimal performance and scalability is built into the patterns and ways of working we use. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Kafka, cloud computing and API Integration coupled with excellent problem-solving skills and a passion for innovation.

Key Accountabilities / Responsibilities:

1. Be the Integration SME for one or more Integration platform capabilities
2. Engineering high quality self-serve capabilities to improve the Integration platforms
3. Understand, contribute to and champion the Integration strategies
4. Provide insights for improvements by collecting, analysing, and summarising development and service metrics
5. Actively engages with the Integration Chapter to drive forward improvements in Engineering
6. Ready to assist teams at short notice to collaborate, fix technical issues or provide expertise and guidance
7. Keeps up to date with best practice engineering tools and techniques
8. Accomplishes engineering and organisation mission by completing related results as needed
9. Supports and develops engineers by providing advice, coaching, and educational opportunities to other members of the team
10. Deputises for other roles in the squad when required
11. Out of hours Platform support

What youll bring:

Required Skills & Experience:

1. Subject matter expertise of Kafka, Event driven designs and API architectures
2. Hands on experience of Confluent data streaming platform
3. Engineering experience with Go, Gitlab, Postgres, Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform, Datadog and Dynatrace
4. Hands on experience of Tyk API Gateway Management or similar
5. Breadth and depth of knowledge of Integration technologies, architecture and principles
6. Generating ideas with colleagues and offering insightful solutions
7. Meeting tight deadlines
8. Mentoring junior members of the squad
