Join our Server Team Akamai's Infrastructure Engineering & Operations organization builds and maintains Akamai's Platform of the world's largest distributed platforms. Our Server Hardware Engineering team is responsible for designing, qualifying, and testing servers destined for our growing network. Partner with the best You will be designing, qualifying, testing, and documenting new BMC firmware for Akamai servers destined for our growing network. You will be interacting with our vendors evaluating pre-release hardware and offering Akamai's input into their future product design. You'll be a part of a team that designs servers and develops firmware for our growing platform consisting of over 300,000 servers in 130 countries. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be responsible for: Evaluating, building, testing, and maintaining OpenBMC firmware Creating specifications and design documentation for server hardware Validating pre-production hardware performance and functionality Contributing to the software development life cycle from conception to deployment to deliver high-quality software solutions Providing feedback to other team members to improve systems and processes Do what you love To be successful in this role you will: Have relevant experience and a Bachelor in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field Have experience with Git or equivalent version control framework Demonstrate proficiency in debugging and troubleshooting both hardware and firmware components Work in a way that works for you FlexBase, Akamai's Global Flexible Working Program, is based on the principles that are helping us create the best workplace in the world.
