About the project
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior or Lead Software Engineer with deep expertise in C and experience within distributed storage systems, for our Client, a renowned leader in parallel file systems, specializing in distributed storage solutions for the AI and high-performance computing market.
It is a fully remote position offering you the flexibility to work from any location in Poland, whether it's your home or one of our well-equipped offices in Gdansk, Katowice, Krakow, Lodz, Warsaw, or Wroclaw.
Your responsibilities
- Subsystem Development: Assume ownership of feature or subsystems within our distributed storage systems, driving design, development, and optimization efforts
- C Expertise: Exhibit a high level of proficiency in C programming, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, efficient, and maintainable code
- System Architecture and Design: Contribute to architectural decisions, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance meet the industry's highest standards
- Collaborative Development: Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including software engineers, architects, and product managers, to steer the development process and achieve project objectives
- Performance Enhancement: Identify performance bottlenecks in code, optimize code for multi-core and scale-out use cases to enhance the overall performance of distributed storage systems
- Code Review and Mentorship: Conduct rigorous code reviews, offer constructive feedback, and mentor junior developers to foster a culture of continuous improvement
- Problem Solving: Analyze complex technical issues, propose innovative solutions, and implement them effectively
Our requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field
- 5 - 8 years of professional experience in software development, with a focus on distributed storage systems
- Expertise in C programming language, with a profound understanding of data structures and algorithms
- Proven track record of leading entire subsystems of code development within complex storage solutions
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot issues and optimize performance
- Experience with distributed file systems, network protocols, and parallel file systems is highly desirable
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively in a team-oriented environment
- Strong desire and proven ability to learn complex technical topics
- Fluency in English
