Job Description:

Job tasks:

1. Responsible for supporting and ensuring the stability of the applications.
2. Change, Incident and Problem management according to guidelines.
3. Participating in change planning, deployment and review.
4. Performing proactive maintenance activities, engaging in automation activities, and performing root cause analysis and remediation.
5. Writing and maintaining scripts to monitor system functionality and performance.
6. Writing scripts to automate multiple manual tasks.
7. Monitoring incident queues, troubleshooting issues and leading conference calls with other groups to mitigate impacts.
8. Applying code and operation break fixes and other proactive maintenance activities.
9. Evaluating the issues reported by clients in order to provide ongoing solutions.
10. Participating in on-call rotation as assigned by manager.
11. Facilitating and attending meetings for Business and Information Technology initiatives.
12. Writing and maintaining programs and scripts to achieve Information Technology objectives.
13. Providing extended support if needed and working with offshore teams to facilitate around-the-clock support for applications and services.

Requirements:

Basic Qualifications:

1. 2+ years of relevant work experience and a Bachelors degree, OR 5+ years of relevant work experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. 3 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or more than 2 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (MBA, JD, MD).
2. Solid working experience in an application support function working in a 24/7 environment, driving high availability on active environments.
3. 2nd/3rd level application support experience.
4. Proficient in code review and code level debugging.
5. Experience in supporting Java applications that run in Apache Tomcat, JWS, or similar containers.
6. Experience planning, deploying and reviewing changes for critical applications.
7. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a strong automation/monitoring mindset.
8. Experience using change, incident and problem management systems such as Remedy, Service Now or equivalent.
9. Experience troubleshooting and resolving incidents.
10. Experience conducting root cause analysis.
11. Experience on container technologies such as Kubernetes and Docker platform.
12. Experience with UNIX/Linux operating system and fluency in BASH scripting.
13. Experience with relational databases such as Oracle, MySQL, SQL Server or equivalent.
14. Excellent ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
15. Unix operating system commands (to a high level).
16. Unix shell scripting (KSH or BASH, awk/sed, perl).
17. Working experience in managing applications on containers.
18. Strong SQL query writing skills.
19. Experience with one of the NoSQL technologies.
20. Working experience on Hadoop, Hive, Spark, Kafka or Hbase.
21. Working experience working on Splunk tool to create reports and dashboard.
22. Knowledge of networking concepts and protocols such as DNS, HTTP, TCP/IP, PKI, SSL, TLS, Digital Certificates, Security Scanning or equivalent.
23. Some experience as a developer is a plus.
24. Experience with Jenkins is a plus.
