• Travel internationally twice a year, for company events up to two weeks long (optional)

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain scalable, reliable infrastructure for Canonical’s enterprise customers

• Implement, test and operate configuration management and automation tooling using Python, Terraform and/or Ansible

• Operate, monitor and troubleshoot Kubernetes, OpenStack and container‑native workloads

• Collaborate with application teams to ensure secure, high‑performance application deployments

• Drive continuous improvement of infrastructure as code, observability and automation practices

Required qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science or related field

• Experience with Linux and Linux networking and storage

• Python software development expertise

• Operational experience with cloud or container platforms

• Excellent interpersonal skills, curiosity, flexibility and accountability

Nice‑to‑have skills

• Familiarity with public or private cloud management

Benefits

• Distributed work environment with twice‑yearly team “sprints” in person

• Personal learning and development budget of USD 2,000 per year

• Recognition rewards and annual holiday leave

• Maternity and paternity leave, Employee Assistance Programme and other global benefits
