About the project

We are seeking a Senior Scala Engineer with 5+ years of experience to develop and sustain high-throughput distributed systems in a cloud-native environment.

Your responsibilities

• Design and maintain advanced distributed systems prioritizing throughput, resilience, scalability, and stability
• Write clean, testable, maintainable code while adhering to best practices
• Contribute to discussions on system architecture, technical design, and implementation strategies
• Monitor and optimize production systems with observability tools
• Ensure solutions align with performance, scalability, and reliability standards
• Collaborate with product, QA, and DevOps teams to deliver robust software
• Provide technical expertise to guide decision-making processes
• Manage priorities effectively across multiple technical initiatives

Our requirements

• 5+ years of experience in Scala programming
• Proficiency in MySQL query performance optimization
• Familiarity with both data normalization and denormalization concepts
• Solid understanding of service-oriented architecture (SOA)
• Background in hosting environments on Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
• Expertise in monitoring and observability tools such as Prometheus, Sentry, Kibana, or Grafana
• Competency in modern software development practices and tooling
• Confidence to work independently and own deliverables
• Flexibility to collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams

Optional

• Knowledge of TypeScript and PHP
• Understanding of asynchronous data projection techniques
• Qualifications in using automated deployment and monitoring tools
• Passion for continuous learning and sharing knowledge
