Roche has defined an exciting 10-year ambition plan, requiring us to adapt and transform to our evolving ecosystem and the challenges ahead. We have redesigned our Global Procurement (GP) organization to ensure we can succeed in this new environment and deliver on our mission for patients by building new capabilities and creating a more agile organization. We aim to improve our ability to deliver on our vision to “accelerate Roche’s goal to bring innovative solutions to patients quickly and efficiently through business and supplier partnerships.” If you are excited about driving this change and catalyzing the future by establishing a world-class supplier risk management framework, the Senior Risk Manager role is for you.
In Roche Global Procurement, we aim to bring more, better and higher quality solutions to our patients faster, while ensuring cost-effectiveness and minimizing risk exposure. Supplier Risk Management efforts help ensure an uninterrupted supply of materials and services. The Supplier Risk Management team is a relatively new team within GP, focused on detecting and managing active supplier and market risks, identifying and preventing potential emerging risks, and building overall supply chain resilience. This is an exciting and important area where you can develop cross-functionally, connect closely to business needs, and deliver meaningful, long-term value to Roche and, ultimately, patients.
Are you interested in further developing your broad set of skills? Here is why we think the Senior Risk Manager role is a fantastic job to consider!
As the Senior Risk Manager, you will work in a dynamic global environment where you will meet the challenge to bring vision, leadership, and focus on risk management throughout the supplier lifecycle. Using your specialized and in-depth knowledge in supply chain resilience, financial risk, and supplier risk management, you help ensure security of supply through proactively identifying and mitigating potential supplier and market risks, supporting disaster recovery, and enhancing supplier partnerships to ensure business continuity and solve business problems.
You will be responsible for the oversight of the end-to-end risk management program for specific procurement categories. This includes building data-driven analysis to inform risk mitigation and business continuity management actions, and development of strategy and business cases to support recommendations. You will be working closely with procurement colleagues, business customers, suppliers, and other relevant stakeholders.
Your successful performance and contribution depend on the full embodiment and demonstration of core mindsets and behaviors, including an entrepreneurial spirit, enterprise thinking, inclusive collaboration, and desire for continuous learning that underpin our culture and ways of working.
You hold a university degree, with a law, business, life science or engineering degree preferable. You also have extensive experience in the biotechnology/pharmaceutical industry including leadership roles, ideally in a matrix organization, as well as strong demonstrated success in building and cultivating collaborative and productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
In addition, you have:
You strive to act as an enterprise thinker and leverage knowledge and expertise to create solutions for business customers by proactively fostering collaboration, including across the procurement network.
You are action-oriented and can make decisions and influence others to do the same; you repurpose work and ideas in favor of starting from scratch.
You demonstrate curiosity, active listening, and a willingness to experiment and test new ideas when appropriate, with the focus very much on continuous learning and improvement.
You work with colleagues across procurement, business, and the wider Roche organization to broaden knowledge and expertise, better understand customer needs, and connect the dots.
You are open-minded and inclusive, generously sharing ideas and knowledge while being receptive to ideas and feedback from others.
Roche is an equal opportunity employer. We care about inclusion in terms of gender, age, race, skin colour, nationality, religion, marital status, sexual orientation, background, physical or mental disabilities and on every other ground. Applying for our position, we assure you that we will assess your application solely on the basis of your competencies.
