Senior Real-Time VFX Artist (Unannounced Shooter Game)

Apply for the Senior Real-Time VFX Artist (Unannounced Shooter Game) role at Plarium. The successful applicant will be able to work at our offices in Warsaw or Barcelona, or remotely from Poland or Spain.

Plarium is an international developer of award‑winning mobile and desktop games, with more than 1300 specialists working remotely or at offices across Israel, Ukraine, Poland, Spain, and Finland. We have produced titles such as RAID: Shadow Legends and Mech Arena, which together unite over 500 million players worldwide. With over 15 years of experience, we strive to push the boundaries of gameplay and graphics while innovating through analytics, marketing, and community interaction.

We are working on an unannounced, multi‑platform third‑person shooter in a realistic setting with innovative gameplay. The project is large‑scale and ambitious from a graphics, game design, and technical perspective, and the game is in active production with over 100 specialists working on it.

The successful applicant will lead work in the real‑time VFX area, building an effective pipeline, coordinating the work of artists, technical specialists, and external partners, and ensuring the quality and integration of visual effects into the game.

Responsibilities

  • Develop high‑quality effects for weapons, characters, and game levels
  • Create concept designs and develop real‑time mobile game VFX in Unity
  • Create simulations and sequences and integrate them with Unity
  • Profile and optimize effects and game assets
  • Approve effects created by external specialists and provide feedback
  • Build and optimize the work pipeline

Requirements

  • At least 4 years of experience in the game industry in a similar role
  • Knowledge of motion principles, anticipation, dynamics, and animation fundamentals
  • Experience creating VFX in Unity
  • Experience creating or writing VFX shaders in node‑based editors
  • Experience with VFX textures
  • Hands‑on experience with particle systems
  • Experience working with Git or other version control systems
  • Experience organizing the process of creating effects
  • Intermediate or higher English language skills
  • Knowledge of HLSL, C#, or another programming language
  • Understanding of mobile device hardware restrictions
  • Skills in 3D modeling and 3D animation
  • Experience creating and baking UV maps
  • Experience creating simulations in Houdini and integrating them with Unity
  • Hands‑on experience with Substance Painter and Substance Designer
