Senior Quality Assurance Automation Engineer

Job Description

QUALIFICATIONS (Must have)

  1. Bachelors in software engineering, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, or related field
  2. 4+ years of progressive experience in software development
  3. Strong programming skills in Python
  4. Good Understanding of object-oriented design, design patterns and multithreaded applications
  5. Experience with scripting languages such as Shell, Batch, Bash and Linux commands
  6. Knowledge of white/gray/black box testing methodologies with hands-on experience
  7. Understanding of test methodologies (such as performance, load, stress, functional, unit, etc.)
  8. Strong analytical skills, capable of uncovering anomalies in robust software

DESIRED EXPERIENCE (Optional)

  1. Software testing for sophisticated electro-mechanical systems (Medical device preferred)
  2. Experience in C++ programming
  3. Knowledge of IEC 62304, ISO 14971, and ISO 13485
  4. Experience with automated GUI testing tools such as Squish
  5. Experience with networking tools for troubleshooting issues related to data transfer and performance across a network.
  6. Experience with Windows and Linux operating systems
  7. Experience with JIRA or any similar bug tracking tools.
  8. Experience with JAMA or any similar test management tools

Responsibilities

GlobalLogic is starting a completely new project and is building a new team. We are looking for a Test Automation Engineer who will help us to develop test infrastructure, test fixtures and implement test scripts for an existing robotic system. The team will collect and analyze data to verify, validate and measure software product quality and performance throughout the software development lifecycle. Responsibilities will include:

  1. Design and implement sophisticated automated tests for software and hardware components
  2. Improve test automation scripts and coverage
  3. Create test protocols and test reports
  4. Implement and execute functional tests, unit tests, stress tests and performance tests
  5. Collect, analyze, track and report test results. Document and file bugs
  6. Participate in design discussions and code reviews
