Senior QA Engineer – Poland

We are seeking a Senior QA Engineer to join our growing Poland team. The role involves working on a range of projects for our enterprise clients, responsible for the strategy, implementation and delivery of high‑quality software and platform solutions. You will be embedded into Simple Machines engineering teams, working closely with engineers and alongside our clients, driving quality standards and providing advice and support on all things quality and testing.

Technical Responsibilities

• Define and implement test cases: be a hands‑on expert, help define test cases and guide others. Provide structure to test suites for ease of ongoing management, and build them into the chosen tooling. Consult and guide clients on best practices.
• Translate business needs into testable outcomes: ensure that business requirements are actionable and testable; collaborate with stakeholders to define UAT scope and success criteria, support test planning and defect triage from a business perspective.
• Co‑manage the test architecture: take accountability for the configuration of the tooling needed to deliver the testing capability: test execution, test data creation/deletion, workflow integration, reporting, etc. Work closely with engineering & QA Lead to deliver the required test architecture to assure quality.
• Partner with engineering: work side by side with Sm and client engineering teams to deliver great software and platforms. Collaborate with tech & QA Leads and engineers at all levels to deliver quality products first time, every time.
• Embed quality into the product lifecycle: be an ambassador for quality assurance throughout the product lifecycle, supporting requirements and design with a test viewpoint, and through monitoring and refinement of issue management and triage processes.
• Contribute and advise on test strategy and approach: help define, implement and continually evolve effective test strategies for the platforms and software that Simple Machines builds for our clients.
• Exploratory and automated testing: ensure comprehensive coverage across functional, regression and performance testing. Skilled in designing and executing test cases manually and leveraging automation tools to improve testing efficiency.

Ideal Skills and Experience

• Functional test tools: proficient with a range of test tools for the management and automation of tests across the full stack. Experience defining and implementing test cases in tools such as Playwright, Cypress, Cucumber (Kotlin/Java).
• API testing: proficient with tools such as Postman, Swagger (OpenAPI), Rest Assured, etc.
• Testing methodologies: familiar with BDD and other methodologies; experience using test case management tools like Xray, TestRail or Zephyr is an advantage.
• Testing for CI/CD: experience with CI/CD principles and embedding testing into continuous delivery.
• Enterprise software experience: experience in QA roles within enterprise environments with broad application architectures.
• Technology: knowledge and experience with Java, Kotlin, Groovy, Scala, React, Redux (at least 2).

Professional Experience and Qualifications

Domain Experience: at least 5 years of professional experience in technical or analytical roles.
