Senior QA Engineer (Backend)

From infrastructure to connectivity, we support clients through the full trading lifecycle. The company is headquartered in New York with offices in Chicago, London, Singapore, Hong Kong and Tokyo. This role is based in our Krakow office.

Role Description

The test engineering team ensures the quality of high‑performance, real‑time analytics products using the latest software, hardware and cloud technologies. Working in an agile environment, you will design functional and system test strategies, automate tests with in‑house frameworks, and help maintain industry‑leading quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the quality of industry‑leading financial and enterprise core product features.
• Test new product features within an agile software development lifecycle.
• Design functional and system test strategies following QA best practices.
• Automate tests using scripting and programming skills (Python, shell scripting, etc.).

Required Skills

• Good working knowledge of IP networking protocols and systems.
• Working knowledge of Linux OS.
• Strong Python programming and Linux/bash scripting skills.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS and GCP.
• Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Bamboo, etc.).
• Detailed understanding of testing methodologies and SDLC, with experience in system testing.
• Excellent problem‑solving and debugging skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
• Ownership mindset to deliver high‑quality features.
• Ability to prioritize tasks across multiple projects based on release schedules.

Desirable Skills

• Cisco certification (CCNA) or familiarity with network device configuration.
• Certification/training in cloud technologies.
• Experience with Terraform.
• Experience working in an Agile environment.
• Knowledge of Docker container usage.
• Knowledge of SQL.
• Experience with distributed systems testing and XML APIs.

Qualifications

Third level degree in Computer Science, Electronic Engineering or a related field.

Working Arrangements

This is a hybrid position with weekly time in the office and the flexibility to work from home. Occasional travel may be required but is not expected to be regular or frequent.
