Work Model: Remote (1 visit per month in any Cognizant office and quarterly meetings in Warsaw to synchronize with the team 2‑3 days)

About the Role

We’re looking for a talented QA Engineer with strong Java skills to join our team at Cognizant. This role focuses on ensuring the highest quality of software, leveraging Java development and automation expertise, and contributing to impactful digital projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement automated test frameworks using Java
• Test RESTful APIs using RestAssured or similar tools
• Validate asynchronous communication between microservices using Kafka or RabbitMQ
• Collaborate with developers, product owners, and stakeholders to define test strategies
• Create and maintain mocks using WireMock or equivalent tools
• Work with containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Integrate tests into CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins and GitHub
• Monitor system behavior using tools like Datadog or Prometheus

Requirements

• Strong experience in test automation using Java (Java 17+)
• Proficiency in API testing tools such as Postman and RestAssured
• Solid understanding of BDD frameworks (e.g., Cucumber)
• Good knowledge of SQL and experience with MySQL 5.7+ or equivalent
• Experience testing microservices and backend systems
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies
• Experience with containerization and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Exposure to monitoring and observability tools (Datadog, Prometheus)
• Experience with asynchronous event‑based systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ)
• Comfortable working with GitHub and Jenkins

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in financial services (payments, banking)
• Ability to thrive in fast‑paced, collaborative environments
