Project

A platform for legal professionals to collaborate on legal documents (such as those related to M&A, banking and finance, and insurance). It enables businesses to lower expenses and increase efficiencies while enhancing the quality and consistency of legal papers.

The Client is transforming the legal sector by building an innovative collaboration platform for legal documents, much like GitLab/GitHub for legal professionals. The first version of the platform has already been successfully launched and is in use by clients. With real user data now coming in, the company is set to take the platform to the next level. To help achieve this, the project is seeking a talented Senior Python Developer to join their AI team.

About the Role:

As a Senior Python Developer, you will be a key part of the AI team, helping to design and build solutions that make legal collaboration seamless and accessible for everyone. You’ll work on a platform that leverages natural language processing (NLP) and other modern AI techniques to improve legal workflows. This is a unique opportunity for someone with a passion for Python and digital platforms who wants to innovate in the legal domain.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Develop and maintain Python-based back-end systems for the Shareforce platform
2. Design and implement scalable AI models, focusing on NLP and large language models
3. Work with cloud providers like AWS and Google Cloud to optimize deployment
4. Collaborate with the front-end and DevOps teams to ensure seamless integration
5. Contribute to the platforms overall architecture, ensuring scalability and performance
6. Stay updated with the latest Python libraries and frameworks to continually enhance the platform
7. Help standardize development processes and contribute to the evolution of the AI system

Key Qualifications:

1. At least 5 years of relevant experience in Python development
2. Strong scripting and back-end skills in Python
3. Familiarity with Linux/Unix-based systems
4. Experience with cloud providers like AWS, Google Cloud, or similar
5. In-depth knowledge of Python libraries, including Python3 string library
6. Solid understanding of OOP, procedural, and functional programming
7. Proficiency with backend frameworks like Flask, FastAPI, etc.
8. Experience with async communication, basic networking, and security protocols
9. Knowledge of design patterns (e.g., SOLID) and containerization (Docker)
10. Good English communication skills, both verbal and written

Nice to Have:

1. Interest in ETL, data visualization, and/or graph science
2. Experience or interest in working with NLP-based systems

Development Stack:

The Clients platform consists of an Angular front-end that communicates with a primary PHP API. The AI system is powered by Python, leveraging modern data libraries and machine learning models, including large language models. The infrastructure includes PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Elasticsearch, and Airflow, all running on a Kubernetes cluster. Additionally, Shareforce is making strides in Knowledge Graphs and scalable architectures such as Kafka, CQRS, and Event Sourcing.

Although candidates dont necessarily need to be tech leads or architects, they should operate at that level. This means:

1. They must be capable of solving complex problems independently.
2. They should be able to make important technical decisions and act as a sparring partner for tech leads.
3. Experience with system architecture, designing scalable solutions, and evaluating new technologies is essential.
