The Senior IT Project Manager is responsible to manage complex IT projects (e.g., SAP country rollouts or SAP S/4 HANA transformation) together with the respective business project manager. He/she will develop the Aebi Schmidt project management methodology and become its owner. The setup of projects from an early scope analysis to a running project will be a crucial part, coaching other PM’s and helping them to manage their projects will complete the role.
He/she acts as the main point of contact for the business organization into the IT project team.
Together with the IT stream he/she ensures the functional implementation of all agreed work packages which are required to deliver the project in an agreed time, budget, and quality.
responsibilities :
Develop a generic project methodology based on best practices for Aebi Schmidt, define new group wide standards for project management
Prepare new projects aligned with the Aebi Schmidt methodology
Support the project portfolio process, manage the portfolio together with the head of global business applications
Execute projects as IT project manager together with the team (business as well as functional & technical IT team members)
Prepare regular project reporting’s and lead steering committees
Evaluate and lead external suppliers during the project life cycle (onboard, execute, out phase)
Control all activities in terms of time, quality, and budget
Responsible to regular review the risk management on all running projects in the IT portfolio
Ensure that projects are documented according to the Aebi Schmidt documentation standard
Ensure that after successful project execution the hand over sessions for the operational IT organization are executed
Define the project priorities in accordance with the head of global IT business applications
requirements-expected :
Extensive IT project management skills (familiar with different project management methodologies)
Minimum 5 years project management experience in an international environment as IT project lead
Experience in an industrial company (machine- or automotive business) considered to be a plus
Solid understanding of the main end-to-end business processes within SAP
Good understanding of technical IT topics in the project context (e.g., development process, IT operations, interfacing, workflows)
Stress resistant and motivated team player which is willing to go the extra mile if required
Excellent communication and organization skills
Open personality who takes ownership and likes to work in an international setup leading a distributed team of IT experts in a project context
Understands the business context of the position and is willing to proactively work with the business partners
Ability to interact with the different level of management to report the project status
Needs to adapt quickly to new situations like scope change, new projects, or re-prioritization
Proven can do attitude (Works hands on projects if required e.g., prepare testing, follow up with technical issues)
Excellent command of spoken and written English (German is a plus)
