Your impact
Jacobs is seeking a Senior Product Owner to drive the development and implementation of automation solutions within the Design Automation programme. This role is ideal for a seasoned Product Owner who thrives in a dynamic, cross‑functional environment and is passionate about mentoring others and delivering impactful solutions at scale. As a Senior Product Owner, you will lead your own work packages while also supporting and coordinating with multiple Product Owners across related initiatives. You will provide strategic and technical direction, ensure alignment across teams, and oversee the full product lifecycle from ideation through development to sustainment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead backlog and roadmap planning across multiple work packages, reporting progress to the Product Manager
- Mentor Product Owners in development and growth processes, providing guidance on stakeholder engagement and collaboration with change‑management teams
- Inspire and manage development teams, ensuring effective resource allocation and prioritisation in coordination with Resource and Product Managers
- Support solution design by engaging technical leads and helping stakeholders articulate requirements
- Oversee end‑to‑end tool development, ensuring consistency across workstreams and alignment with technical standards and best practices
- Maintain and manage development schedules, dependencies and budgets (Opex/Capex), taking corrective actions as needed
- Coordinate with global cross‑functional teams to deliver solutions on time and within scope
- Ensure adherence to Agile and DevOps practices throughout the development lifecycle
- Guide the product through the Design Automation process, including Critical Design Reviews and deliverable verification
- Engage regularly with stakeholders and sponsors, supporting communication, marketing, and adoption strategies
- Manage external vendors, ensuring quality, scope, budget and schedule compliance
- Address challenges through strategic problem‑solving and collaboration with engineering, architecture, IT and cybersecurity teams
- Support the transition of mature tools to operational teams
What you’ll need
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Product Owner or in a similar leadership role within an Agile environment
- Proven experience in mentoring and coordinating multiple product teams
- Strong understanding of software development processes, Agile methodologies and DevOps
- Experience managing product portfolios, dependencies and budgets (Opex/Capex)
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Strategic problem‑solving and decision‑making capabilities
- Ability to collaborate across global, cross‑functional teams
- Experience working with external vendors and managing contracts is a plus
