Our team works closely with creative engineers, designers, marketers, etc. to help design and develop technologies that improve access to the worlds information. Were responsible for guiding products throughout the execution cycle, focusing specifically on analyzing, positioning, packaging, promoting, and tailoring our solutions to our users.
In this role, you will help people and businesses connect on any device across messaging and voice through our Google Messages and Google Phone app. You will support consumer mobile communications and connectivity apps, services, and infrastructure.
The Platforms and Ecosystems product area encompasses Googles various computing software platforms across environments (desktop, mobile, applications). The products provide enterprises, and ultimately end users, the ability to utilize and manage their services at scale. We build innovative and compelling software products—from apps to TVs, from laptops to phones—that have an impact on people’s lives across the world.
Responsibilities
- Identify and drive the creation of solutions for spam and abuse prevention in Google Messages that enable users to interact with each other and with businesses with high trust and safety.
- Define the product goal and roadmap for Google Rich Business Messaging (RBM), innovating experiences for users and brands building out new functionality for e.g., payments, shopping carts, improvements to verification and spam protections, re-engagement features, conversation starters, Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based customer service experiences.
- Identify gaps in the current product offering, define and document requirements and deliver business impact through supporting new and expanded functionality.
- Lead the team to scale RBM towards a Google scale business.
- Define new industry standards and lead the mobile ecosystem (e.g., carriers, iOS, device makers, channel partners).
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelors degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 8 years of experience in product management, consulting, or related technical roles.
- 3 years of experience taking technical products from conception to launch.
- 2 years of experience in building and shipping products.
- Experience in partnerships, collaborating with enterprises on creating technical solutions.
Preferred qualifications:
- Masters degree in a Technology or Business related field.
- 5 years of experience working cross-functionally with engineering, User Experience (UX)/User Interface (UI), business finance, and other stakeholders.
- 5 years of experience in a business function or role (e.g., strategic marketing, business operations, consulting).
- 4 years of experience in a role preparing and delivering technical presentations to executive leadership.
- 3 years of experience in software development or engineering.
- Ability to deliver and execute in a fluid software environment.
