As a Senior PostgreSQL Engineer you will be working for our client, a large-scale, highly regulated financial organization operating globally and delivering mission-critical data platforms. You will contribute to a complex modernization program focused on scalable, high-availability PostgreSQL infrastructures supporting distributed systems and zero-downtime operations. The project involves designing advanced database architectures, optimizing performance at scale, and enabling seamless data movement across platforms while ensuring reliability, security, and compliance in a high-impact production environment.

responsibilities :
Design and implement logical replication solutions including publications and subscriptions
Manage conflict resolution, DDL changes, large objects, and column transformations in replication setups
Execute zero-downtime database migrations using logical replication
Architect and optimize postgres_fdw solutions for distributed queries and data federation
Troubleshoot performance and transactional issues in distributed PostgreSQL environments
Design and maintain large declaratively partitioned tables
Implement partition pruning and partition-wise joins and aggregates
Migrate existing tables to partitioned models without service interruption
Design, maintain, and optimize complex indexing strategies
requirements-expected :
Advanced and hands-on knowledge of PostgreSQL databases
Deep expertise with PostgreSQL versions 14 to 17 and above
Strong experience with logical replication in production environments
Advanced knowledge of postgres_fdw and distributed PostgreSQL architectures
Proven expertise in declarative partitioning strategies
Expert-level understanding of PostgreSQL indexing mechanisms
Experience operating high-availability and large-scale database systems
Strong troubleshooting and performance tuning skills
Ability to design resilient solutions for mission-critical systems
Experience working in highly regulated or enterprise-scale environments
