As a Senior Platform Engineer, you will play a mission-critical role in designing and building the infrastructure that powers all things related to reliability and scalability. You’ll take ownership of large projects, mentor other engineers, and enable teams by creating simple, modular, and composable systems that streamline workflows and enhance developer efficiency.

Responsibilities:
- Lead and execute infrastructure projects that involve multiple engineers and have many moving parts.
- Build modular, composable workflows for CI/CD pipelines, enabling automation, deployment, and monitoring at scale.
- Maintain and defend Bolt’s infrastructure against internal and external threats.
- Work on infrastructure that emphasizes simplicity, modularity, and composability to ensure maintainability and scalability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish best practices in infrastructure design and security.
- Build tools and infrastructure, including observability layers and developer-facing tools, that enable teams across Bolt to move faster and more efficiently.
- Participate in on-call duties to ensure the availability and reliability of our systems, responding to and resolving incidents when needed.
- Troubleshoot issues across the entire stack, from network and OS to applications.
- Oversee PCI compliance and coordinate with stakeholders during audits.
- Act as a subject matter expert and provide mentorship to other engineers, helping them grow into senior and staff-level roles.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of relevant professional experience.
- Independent and self-driven
- Proven experience with infrastructure as a code (IaC) and modular workflow design for CI/CD pipelines.
- Strong knowledge of AWS infrastructure, including VPC, EKS, Terraform, Docker, and Kubernetes.
- Advanced understanding of Linux systems and web application security.
- Experience troubleshooting and resolving complex infrastructure issues.
- Ability to navigate technical ambiguity and execute large, cross-team projects with minimal guidance.
- Leadership experience in mentoring junior engineers and driving process improvements across teams.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate with product and engineering stakeholders.
- Familiarity with modern container systems and technologies such as Redis, Vault, Terraform, PostgreSQL, AWS, CloudFlare, and CI/CD tools like CircleCI, GitHub Actions, ArgoCD, and MongoDB.
Nice to Have:
- Experience building and operating highly secure systems, focusing on SOC2 & PCI compliance, observability, and automation.
- Experience scaling technical infrastructures and defending corporations against DDoS, malware, and other exploits.
- Strong coding/scripting experience in Typescript, Golang, Bash, HCL, and Python.
- Experience working in payments or financial services.
- Familiarity with OpenTelemetry and observability best practices.
- Experience with AWS, CloudFlare, and CI/CD tools like CircleCI, GitHub Actions, and ArgoCD.
