As we continue to expand our operations, we are actively seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Network Engineer to join our dynamic team. Reporting directly to the Director of Network Security & Data Protection Services, this role will be integral to our Professional Services team and will be primarily responsible for the successful deployment of various network-related projects.
The Senior Network Engineer at Jolera will be tasked with ensuring the installation, maintenance, security, availability, monitoring, reporting, and the overall quality of services for our LAN, WAN, and Internet network environments. The ideal candidate for this role will exhibit a self-driven work ethic, strong analytical capabilities, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills. In addition to these attributes, the selected candidate will act as the technical lead and subject matter expert, offering senior-level advisory support to the team.

Collaborate with Engineering, Infrastructure, Security, and Project Management Teams including Customers: Partner closely with these multifaceted teams to collectively review project scope and ensure the precise deployment of network projects in alignment with the defined scope, emphasizing scalability and robust resilience.
Network Systems and Services Expertise: Provide expertise in network systems and services to drive operational best practices, ensuring the success of network projects.
Research and Technology Implementation: Research, develop, and implement new technologies and practices to enhance the outcomes of network projects.
Positive Interactions: Foster and maintain positive and cooperative relationships, both within and outside teams, while promoting open, honest, and accepting communication, crucial for the success of network projects.
Network Infrastructure Maintenance and Upgrades: Perform maintenance and system upgrades, including service packs, patches, hot fixes, and security configurations, with a focus on network project requirements.
Configuration and Change Management: Adhere to established configuration and change management policies to ensure the successful execution of changes within the network infrastructure, especially those related to network project deployment.
Network Assessment and Documentation: Review and assess customer network infrastructure for network projects, preparing assessment reports that detail recommendations and best practices for future project upgrades.
Design and RFC Preparation: Create design and Request for Change (RFC) documents that outline procedures and steps for network infrastructure upgrades and migrations, specifically for network project deployment requirements.
Direct Engagement: Actively engage in network infrastructure upgrade and migration projects, which may involve interactions with partners or customers, with a focus on the success of network projects.
Security Implementation: Select and implement security tools, policies, and procedures in collaboration with the companys security team to ensure network project security.
Documentation for Planning: Provide documentation and technical specifications for planning and implementing new or upgraded IT infrastructure at customer sites, focusing on network project requirements.
Knowledge Transfer: Ensure knowledge transfer of multiple systems and processes by thoroughly documenting all systems, architecture, and credentials within the Jolera CS system to support the success of network projects, where required.
Project Management: Document, execute, and manage multiple simultaneous high-quality network projects by collaborating with all internal and external teams, ensuring network project objectives are met.
requirements-expected :
Computer Technology degree/diploma or equivalent experience with a minimum of 5 years in an Enterprise-level Network Support and/or deployment position.
Experience working with various network technologies such as:
Cisco Networking Software (IOS, XE, XR, and NX-OS), Cisco ISE, EIGRP, BGP, OSPF, VPN, F5 Load Balancers, Citrix NetScaler, VMware Networking, QoS, IP, SIP, SD-WAN, MPLS, IPv6, VLANs and VXLANs but not limited to.
3 years+ deployment experience in Cisco ASA’s/Firepower, F5, Citrix ADC, Palo Alto, FortiGate, Aruba, Meraki and other network technologies.
Experience in deploying Cisco Nexus and Catalyst switches for network projects.
Knowledge of cloud platforms and services (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
Proficiency in load balancers such as F5 and Citrix.
Strong analytical skills for troubleshooting network-related issues, including diagnosing packet captures and analyzing network traffic.
A strong sense of personal responsibility and accountability, well-developed organizational skills with special attention to detail and accuracy, crucial for the precision required in network projects.
Experience working in a fast-paced team-oriented, collaborative environment, ensuring effective teamwork on network projects.
Excellent verbal and written communication, documentation, interpersonal, and customer service skills, essential for conveying project requirements and status.
Well-developed time management skills, with the ability to work well under time-sensitive deadlines and balance multiple tasks simultaneously, a critical skill for meeting project milestones and ensuring timely delivery.
