Job Description:

Senior Manager

The Senior Manager will be responsible for multiple teams that primarily support the Americas region. The teams will focus on providing high-quality underwriting support services for the Americas region. The teams will perform front-to-end activities throughout the life-cycle of renewal and prospect accounts from submission to expiration, with guidance from the Middle Office and Underwriter. They will be engaged in ongoing development of insurance knowledge related to their specialized line of business.

You will be expected to balance supporting team members, Shared Service initiatives, and developing wider business aims within the teams. A core aspect of this role is communication—having the ability to have robust, fair, and open conversations with stakeholders at all levels of seniority. Understanding the aims and purposes of each team at a high level will be necessary, and getting involved in more detailed aspects should the need arise.

What will your essential responsibilities include?

  1. Oversee a number of Insurance Operations teams responsible for Underwriting Support Services like policy maintenance, data entry, endorsements, certificates, policy wordings, invoice issuance, reconciliation, pricing modelling, credit control, etc.
  2. Provide superior customer service to all internal and external stakeholders, ensuring the same high customer service standards are upheld by all colleagues. Continually identify areas where stakeholder experience can be improved.
  3. Ensure processes, procedures, and SLAs are met and adhered to while considering the wider company aims.
  4. Manage the workflow of multiple tasks and maintain a detailed understanding of the status of various tasks owned by Middle Office, Underwriters, Brokers, and AXA XL internal network and fronting partners around the world, prioritizing and organizing the team’s workloads based on expertise, task complexity, workload, and other considerations.
  5. Effectively support and enable the successful transition of new and existing work into the teams from AXA XL, in line with Global Operations strategies.
  6. Drive a culture of Continuous Improvement and learning, ensuring initiatives are tracked and supported where necessary.
  7. Participate actively and be accountable for the Quality Review Process for the area of responsibility, working with key stakeholders on process review and improvement.
  8. Collaborate and correspond verbally and in written format with internal and external contacts globally, considering differences in local language, time zones, and good local standards to achieve a high level of service and meet client expectations.
  9. Proactively problem-solve to balance and manage client/broker expectations with internal service standards.
  10. Support and develop the teams through regular communication, training, coaching, and appraisal reviews.

You will report to the Poland Head of Managed Services.

We’re looking for someone who has these abilities and skills:

Required Skills and Abilities:

  1. University degree (business, insurance, finance, economy, management is preferable).
  2. Fluent Business English is a must; an additional language can be an added value.
  3. Proven experience in the insurance business would be advantageous.
  4. Experience in a shared service environment would be advantageous.
  5. Proven experience in stakeholder management and transition processes.
  6. Proven compelling leadership running rather large (50+) and multi-teams providing services to different customers.
  7. Team building skills; role model by setting a high bar for performance, engagement, and commitment.
  8. Ability to build effective working relationships (internally/externally), establishing credibility amongst a wide and demanding client group.
  9. Experience of working autonomously and driving initiatives to completion.
  10. Ability to work in a dynamic and growing organization where the control environment is maturing and where there is a need to be flexible and pragmatic.
  11. Good organizational skills with the ability to work under time pressure in a changing environment.
  12. Excellent people skills; communicative and open to new challenges.
  13. Excellent analytical and logical thinking skills with attention to detail.
  14. Computer literate including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other commonly used software.
