Magic Media is currently seeking a Senior Cleanup Animator to join our team. The ideal candidate enjoys applying their skills across a variety of styles. Your experience in cinematics, gaming, and the video production pipeline will help you collaborate with designers, concept artists, technical artists, and other animators to create immersive experiences.

What you will do

• Work closely with the Lead Animator, internal team, and clients to clean up motion capture data to a high standard
• Improve rough animation into final production-ready assets while preserving and accenting the actor-s intent, timing, and performance
• Provide feedback, guidance, and mentorship to lower-seniority cleanup artists
• Ensure shots meet studio quality standards and production deadlines
• Follow established pipelines, naming conventions, and file-management practices
• Maintain continuity of animation quality throughout tasks and the project
• Coordinate with producers and supervisors to achieve project goals

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience as an animator in a studio production pipeline
• Experience on large-scale productions or long-form projects
• Experience supervising or leading cleanup teams
• Strong understanding of animation principles
• Experience animating humanoid characters and creatures
• Strong experience with cleaning motion capture data
• Creative problem solving for animation tasks
• Strong communication skills, a team player, and a positive attitude
• Able to provide objective feedback and take direction well
• Excellent English skills (spoken and written)
• Proficiency in industry-standard software: Maya, MotionBuilder

Desirable

• Experience working on a AAA game title or high-end film production
• Working knowledge of various animation scripts, rigging, motion capture systems

Familiarity with communication tools such as Slack, JIRA, and Confluence.
