Responsibilities
- Policy & governance – lead the creation and implementation of consistent group‑wide HR policies, employee handbooks, and codes of conduct, ensuring alignment with local legal requirements.
- Risk & compliance – identify and manage key employment law risks globally, including whistleblowing, discrimination, terminations, and non‑compete enforcement.
- Advisory partner – act as the primary legal advisor to the Chief People Officer and HR teams on complex, sensitive, and strategic employment matters.
- Transactions & restructuring – provide expert legal guidance and due diligence for all M&A and restructuring activities across the Group.
- Employee relations – oversee executive and contentious terminations, redundancy programs, severance negotiations, and internal investigations to ensure compliance and fairness.
- Litigation & external counsel – manage all employment‑related litigation and regulatory claims, while overseeing the selection and performance of external counsel globally.
- Regulatory oversight – maintain compliant employment contracts, monitor legal developments across jurisdictions, and advise on necessary policy or procedural updates.
Requirements
- Global legal expertise – experienced legal professional with proven success across multiple jurisdictions, including Europe, MENA, the Americas, and APAC.
- Regulatory & sector knowledge – strong background in regulated industries such as financial services, fintech, and other compliance‑driven sectors.
- Strategic legal skills – skilled in drafting group‑wide policies, complex commercial agreements, and reviewing third‑party contracts to identify and mitigate legal risks.
- Leadership & collaboration – effective leader and mentor with strong interpersonal skills, experienced in managing teams and partnering with global stakeholders.
- Decision‑making & accountability – operates autonomously with full ownership of outcomes, driving results and delivering under pressure.
- Analytical & problem‑solving ability – adept at navigating complex legal and regulatory frameworks with practical, business‑focused solutions.
- Organization & communication – highly organized, detail‑oriented, and able to communicate complex legal matters clearly to non‑legal audiences.
