Are you a highly independent, top performer with strong integrity? Would you like to help in securing the bank’s business in a technology-driven world?

We are now looking for a Senior Risk Expert to support and challenge Nordea’s business in building well-controlled and resilient operations responding to our fast-changing operating environment and regulatory demands. You’ll join an ambitious Technology & Resilience Risk Processes team, shaping how the bank manages its risk exposures on Technology, Business Continuity & Crisis Management, and Outsourcing & 3rd parties.

At Nordea, we’re committed to being a partner our customers and society can count on. Compliance and integrity go hand in hand. Joining us means you’ll have an impact on how we do banking – today and tomorrow. So bring your ideas, skills and unique background. With us, you’ll be in good company with plenty of opportunities to collaborate, grow and make your mark on something bigger.

About our team

Welcome to Technology & Resilience Risk in Group Operational Risk. Our job is all about partnering with the business to ensure Nordea’s risk profile meets set risk appetite and regulatory demands while delivering on strategic priorities and business targets – and to constructively challenge where needed.

With us, you’ll be strengthening Nordea’s technology and resilience risk management and preparedness towards extraordinary events. You’ll play a valuable role leveraging your risk and business understanding combined with pragmatic judgement to guide, influence and collaborate with the first line of defence.

Your role and focus areas will be shaped based on your professional background and ambitions. The role is based in Helsinki, Copenhagen, Stockholm, Warszawa, Łódź, Gdańsk or Gdynia.

Collaboration. Ownership. Passion. Courage. These are the values that guide us in how we work and how we make decisions – and that we imagine you share with us.

What you’ll be doing

Main responsibilities in this role:

  • Setting direction and developing how Nordea manages its Technology and Resilience risks, including the ICT Risk Management Framework and impacts to related risk and business processes
  • Ensuring implementation of regulatory requirements and changes (incl. the Digital Operational Resiliency Act / DORA) into affected internal rules and risk frameworks
  • Developing pragmatic risk and control guidance and requirements to enable logical business usage and value-adding risk information across the bank
  • Coordinating and/or contributing to supervisory engagements and needed deliveries on Technology, BCCM and/or Outsourcing topics
  • Enhancing data-driven risk monitoring capabilities to draw qualitative insights on risk exposures (incl. KRIs and other metrics)

Who you are

To succeed in this role, we believe that you:

  • Have the ability to understand both the bigger picture and relevant details, foreseeing cross-functional perspectives, inter-linkages and impacts
  • Are experienced in interpreting financial services regulation and industry standards, and building the bridge to business and risk management and control requirements
  • Have worked with risk management and control frameworks, policies and requirements, and integrating those into risk and business processes
  • Have business-driven, pragmatic and analytical mindset applied to risk and regulatory context
  • Possess excellent problem-solving capabilities and can-do attitude to come up with solutions and quality deliverables
  • Have great communication skills and ability to drive decision-making while building stakeholder relations across organisational levels

Your experience and background:

  • 5-10+ years’ experience within banking / financial services and risk management (experience with non-financial risk and ICT beneficial)
  • Demonstrated ability to manage across multiple initiatives and stakeholders in parallel
  • Superior professional writing and communication skills in English
  • Relevant industry/risk management certifications are considered as a merit but not a prerequisite
