Currently we are looking for experienced risk professionals to join Group Operational Risk (GOR) in Nordea. You can become a member of the Monitoring, Reporting & Analytics Team and develop your skills and knowledge on operational risk management.

At GOR you will learn about the bank’s compliance with regulations and internal rules, limits & guidelines on operational risk. This includes control, analysis, and reporting of risk exposures. You will have an opportunity to learn and influence how operational risk exposure can be measured and monitored.

About this opportunity

The Monitoring, Reporting & Analytics Team is a part of Nordea’s second line of defence (2LoD) in Group Operational Risk (GOR). The role of the team you would join is to provide guidance, constructive challenge, and support for our colleagues in the First Line of Defence.

As the Senior or Lead Risk Expert, you will play a valuable role in enhancing and shaping the operational risk-related framework and governance. This role involves interactions with many stakeholders, understanding various interests and views, and working out solutions that can be beneficial for many across the bank.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Enhance and maintain operational risk management-related framework and documentation e.g. CEO Instruction on Operational Risk.
  • Closely cooperate with 1LoD and 2LoD colleagues to agree on the implementation of the operational risk-related procedures.
  • Lead and facilitate discussions between 1LoD and 2LoD to work out common solutions and ensure proper information flow.
  • Conduct ad hoc analyses on various topics.

The role is based in Warszawa.

Your experience and background:

  • A solid economics, finance, or equivalent academic degree.
  • At least 5 years’ experience in financial markets, banking, market or counterparty credit risk, or similar.
  • You have a track record of successfully delivering projects.
  • Solid understanding of regulatory requirements.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Fluency in English.

Nice to have:

  • Knowledge about operational risk management.
