Role and Responsibilities

The Airline Master Data team at CAE is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to help us with building the best data hub in the industry. Airline Master Data is a modern solution for exchanging standardized airline operational data in real-time. It provides industry data consistency across a variety of airline operations products. The software is designed as a set of multitenant microservices deployed in Kubernetes with a NoSQL persistence layer and Kafka messaging.

The role we are offering you:

1. Design and develop efficient backend systems
2. Write unit and integration tests
3. Analyze and solve performance bottlenecks
4. Provide and implement ideas for application improvements
5. Share knowledge and mentor junior team members

Our ideal candidate has:

1. 5+ years of programming experience (Java ecosystem)
2. Experience in designing and building microservices (SpringBoot)
3. Working knowledge of REST API design and implementation
4. Strong data-driven software development attitude
5. Practical NoSQL knowledge (MongoDB) and RDBMS systems
6. Knowledge of containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
7. Knowledge of object-oriented programming principles and design patterns
8. Working knowledge of messaging systems (Apache Kafka)
9. Learning mindset
10. Good command of English

In addition to the following experience, nice to have:

1. Practical knowledge of cloud native services and applications (AWS)
2. Working knowledge of Linux OS
3. Experience with code analysis tools e.g. Sonar, Veracode, whitesource
