Senior Java Developer / Site Reliability Engineer (SRE)

Location: Warsaw

Type of work: Hybrid (2-3 days per week in office)

Contract: Contract of employment

Note: We can’t consider candidates who require company support to legally live and work in Poland.

Support level: Level 3 support for all PPT products. Participation in on‑call rotation required.

On‑call: Approximately one weekend per month, support required 9‑5 CEST.

We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Senior Java Developer with strong Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) capabilities to join our team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast‑paced environment, enjoys solving complex problems, and is passionate about building resilient, scalable systems.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy multi-tiered web-based enterprise applications using Java and J2EE technologies (Spring, Hibernate, JDBC, JNDI, IBM MQ Series, Web Services – SOAP/REST).
• Provide architectural and practical guidance to improve system resiliency, performance, efficiency, and cost optimization.
• Troubleshoot and debug complex production issues across distributed systems.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to analysis, design, coding, and unit testing phases.
• Support production environments, manage incidents, and perform root cause analysis.
• Monitor system health using tools like Splunk, Prometheus, Grafana.
• Work with messaging and data technologies such as Kafka, Cassandra, Oracle, and MySQL.
• Develop scripts in Python and/or Bash for automation and operational tasks.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure high availability and reliability of services.
• (Optional) Contribute to mobile SDK development if applicable.

Required qualifications

• Proven experience in Java development and microservices architecture.
• Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills in complex environments.
• Hands‑on experience with observability tools (Splunk, Prometheus, Grafana).
• Familiarity with distributed systems and messaging platforms (Kafka).
• Experience with databases: Oracle, MySQL, Cassandra.
• Proficiency in scripting languages (Python and/or Bash).
• Solid understanding of Agile methodologies.
• Exposure to mobile SDKs is a plus.
