As a Senior Java API Engineer, you will be working for our client, a leading financial institution, delivering State Architecture for payment processing. You will help introduce a lean, reusable payment processing engine that forms the backbone of next-generation payment capabilities. Leveraging existing software within an inner sourcing model focused on reuse and enhancement, you will contribute to rapidly delivering innovative financial products with high quality and efficiency.

Deliver engineering expertise to develop and implement Architecture, producing world-class payment processing capabilities.
Write high-quality, robust code artifacts, ensuring quality standards are met and comprehensive test scripts are included.
Focus on delivering highly available, resilient software and service capabilities within the payment ecosystem.
Collaborate with the delivery team to design and develop new functionalities.
Support the modernization of the current payment estate, adopting cloud-based technology and best practices.
Set high standards for software delivery, leading by example.
Provide technical solutions and guidance for complex technical and business issues.
Maintain awareness of business and technology strategies, and recommend innovative technical solutions for competitive advantage.
Manage complex technical infrastructure to meet evolving business needs.
Partner with DevOps teams to automate infrastructure delivery, implement DevSecOps practices, and optimize CI/CD pipelines.
Conduct feasibility analyses, cost/benefit evaluations, and detailed specifications for large systems.
Design, code, test, debug, and document payment systems aligned with global standards.
Uplift architecture guidance based on best practices, ensuring compliance with controls and security standards.
Stay current with advancements in cyber security, data privacy, and relevant regulations.
requirements-expected :
15+ years of applied experience as an API engineer, with at least 10 years in backend microservices application development.
Strong expertise in API designing and architectural artefacts such as gap analysis, data models, and low-level designs.
Extensive programming experience in Java, with knowledge of Go and Rust preferred.
Proven skills in JVM tuning, application troubleshooting, and performance optimization.
Deep knowledge of distributed system design, including microservices architecture with Spring Boot.
Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, service mesh, and Kafka, including cluster configuration and software development.
Proficiency in monitoring and observability tools such as Splunk, Grafana, Prometheus, Jaeger, Kiali, and OpenTelemetry.
Solid understanding of cloud platforms, networking (VPC), security, and DevOps practices.
Strong SQL coding skills and experience with distributed databases.
Experience working in financial institutions, especially in payments domain.
Ability to work independently, innovate, and lead technical initiatives.
Leadership skills with a passion to mentor and develop technologists.
Excellent communication skills in English, with the ability to negotiate and influence technical decisions.
