We are seeking an experienced Senior IT Business Analyst – Logistics & Transportation Management to join Group IT, ideally with a background in transportation, logistics, or supply chain within process manufacturing or distribution environments. As the IT counterpart to business process owners, you will own and continuously evolve the Transportation Management process and systems and related logistics solution landscape, ensuring it supports end-to-end transportation and logistics processes across the organization. This includes inbound and outbound logistics, carrier management, freight settlement, and integration with warehouse operations.
A key responsibility will be to participate in the selection and implementation of group-wide Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and processes. The role will work in close collaboration with the WM and EWM teams to ensure seamless integration and process harmonization across logistics and warehouse functions.
The ideal candidate combines hands-on SAP ERP technical expertise with strong stakeholder engagement at plant and logistics center levels, and can drive template standardization, rollout, and continuous improvement across the group.
This is a full-time, permanent role with the possibility of remote work.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own the Logistics and Transportation application landscape as Technical Application Owner: roadmap, backlog, service performance, and continuous optimization.
- Lead and participate in the selection, design, and implementation of group-wide Logistics and Transportation Management Systems and processes.
- Elicit and translate business needs with Logistics, Supply Chain, Operations, and Warehouse teams into robust functional designs and user stories.
- Hands-on SAP ECC and/or S/4HANA configuration for logistics and transportation processes, and integration with WM/EWM, including process variants and harmonized templates for multi-site deployments.
- Design and implement strategies for gathering, reviewing, and analyzing transportation and logistics data requirements.
- Translate business needs into technical requirements and guide the design of technology solutions for transportation and logistics.
- Collaborate with project managers, Group IT, business stakeholders, and Local IT team members to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
- Present findings to executive leadership and document changes to functional and business specifications.
- Play a key role in the testing and rollout of new software or technology solutions, especially TMS and logistics platforms.
- Create detailed reports and give presentations to relevant stakeholders.
- Work closely with Application Maintenance Partners and Software Application Partners to ensure the smooth operation and optimization of transportation and logistics applications.
- Ensure compliance with IT governance and security policies as the technical Application Owner.
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies in transportation and logistics to ensure the company remains competitive.
Technical Skills
- 7+ years as an IT Business Analyst or Solution Consultant, with 5+ years focused on SAP TM, logistics, or supply chain modules in ECC and/or S/4HANA.
- Demonstrable hands-on configuration expertise in SAP TM and strong cross-module integration with WM, EWM, MM, SD, QM, FICO and analytics systems
- Strong understanding of warehouse management processes, hands on configuration experience with SAP public cloud WM and SAP EWM is a strong plus
- Experience with Carrier and logistics partner sourcing platforms and their integration into end-to-end logistics processes.
- Exposure to transportation planning, carrier selection, freight cost calculation, and logistics execution.
- Experience in designing cohesive transportation and logistics processes and data flows, with a focus on user engagement, platform adoption, process harmonization, and data quality.
- Strong understanding of application lifecycle management and maintenance best practices.
- Experience integrating SAP and non-SAP environments related to transportation, logistics, and supply chain.
- Certifications (preferred/advantage): SAP Certified Application Associate – Transportation Management with SAP S/4HANA, SAP Certified Application Associate – SAP S/4HANA Supply Chain, SAP Certified Application Associate – SAP Extended Warehouse Management (EWM), ITIL v4 Foundation.
