Harmonic is a leading provider of innovative broadband solutions that deliver video, voice, and data to communications providers around the world. The GL team participates in the development, QA, and support of several generations of such solutions.

The CableOS project involves developing new software-based network equipment that provides access to Internet/IPTV/VoIP services using powerful servers.

This innovative solution for Internet Service Providers aims to replace existing hardware equipment and migrate to the cloud, significantly reducing support costs for hardware network equipment. Currently, there are no global competitors to this project, offering a unique opportunity to be at the forefront of its rapid development within a dynamic engineering team.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, Telecommunications, or related field.
• Understanding of networking systems, hardware/software design, and troubleshooting.
• Strong theoretical knowledge of IP switching/routing protocols and TCP/IP stack.
• Ability to interpret technical documentation.
• Proficiency in English; additional European languages are a plus.
• Experience with Linux server configuration and administration.
• Ability to document and communicate customer issues clearly.
• Preferred knowledge of DOCSIS, DVB/ATSC, CMTS, BNG, and PON configuration and troubleshooting.

Travel requirements:

This role involves significant travel within NAC and EMEA regions, with a focus on NAC time zones (PDT, MDT, EDT) to support NAC customers.

Job responsibilities

• Support activities for CableOS lab integration, testing, and field trials.
• Communicate effectively with marketing, engineering, and sales teams regarding client expectations.
• Update clients on project status and plans.
• Create and maintain project documentation.
• Test new software/hardware, report defects.
• Lead client field trials.
• Train clients and field service teams on CableOS operation and troubleshooting.
• Assist with deployments and technical support as needed.
