Informacje o stanowisku

We are seeking an experienced hardware development engineer to join our team and lead the mechanical design of power converters for rail applications. You will work on traction and auxiliary converter systems from concept through mechanical type testing and production support.

Your responsibilities

  • Lead the concept development and detailed design of traction and auxiliary power converters for rail vehicles
  • Define mechanical construction, including welded aluminum housings and internal component layouts
  • Create and maintain production documentation: 3D CAD models, detailed drawings, material specifications and manufacturing instructions
  • Perform FEM simulations to validate structural integrity, thermal behavior and airflow within enclosures
  • Conduct and coordinate type tests (shock, vibration, noise emission, IP rating) to ensure compliance with rail industry standards
  • Run airflow simulations to optimize cooling strategies and thermal management
  • Collaborate with electrical and system engineering teams to integrate cross-discipline solutions
  • Support suppliers and customers with technical enquiries, design reviews and problem resolution
  • Assist production during initial assembly and commissioning of new product lines
  • Manage change control processes for all design and production documentation

Our requirements

  • BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline
  • Proven experience designing power converter hardware for traction and auxiliary applications
  • Strong background in mechanical construction of welded aluminum and sheet‑metal assemblies
  • Hands‑on experience planning and executing type tests (shock, vibration, acoustic noise, IP protection)
  • Advanced skills in 3D CAD (preferably CATIA V5) and PLM systems (Teamcenter or Smarteam)
  • Familiarity with interpreting electrical schematics is a plus
  • Proficiency in FEM tools (e.g. ANSYS, Abaqus) and thermal/airflow simulation software is a plus
  • Excellent communication skills in English (minimum B2 level)
  • Strong collaborative mindset and ability to drive projects across multiple departments
