General Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior General Ledger Accountant to join our newly created Shared Service Centre in Warsaw, Poland. This key position requires a strong background in the cash area and experience in setting up regional finance functions across multiple countries. The incumbent will handle a broad range of accounting topics across various countries, bringing strong US‑GAAP and local GAAP knowledge combined with hands‑on SAP (S/4HANA) experience. Strong communication and cultural sensitivity are essential to coordinate activities across US, Europe, and Asia. In a hybrid work model, the role requires a proactive attitude and strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.

Hybrid work pattern: 3 days per week from our Warsaw office with 2 days remote.

Essential Functions Of The Job

• Prepare GL entries in SAP, recording all relevant transactions daily and managing diverse closing activities to ensure timely book entries.
• Prepare balance sheet account reconciliations, ensuring appropriate backup and resolving reconciling or overdue items promptly.
• Assist with SOX compliance, internal audit, and external audit requests.
• Participate in the ongoing development of accounting policies, procedures, and operational strategies, including process and system improvements.
• Continuously improve system efficiencies and business practices, identifying opportunities to streamline processes and enhance accounting procedures.
• Implement best practices and documentation to improve workflow and accuracy.
• Engage in miscellaneous projects as they arise.
• Support US GAAP and local statutory audit.

Computer Skills

SAP knowledge required (S/4HANA), Excel, Concur, Workday, online banking, and other procurement software.

Other Qualifications

• Accounting/Business/Finance bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of GL experience in a multinational finance environment (Big 4 and/or healthcare a plus).
• Experience transitioning a GL process into an SSC/GBS.
• Willingness to execute daily transactional accounting tasks in a fast‑paced, changing environment.
• Excellent communication skills combined with cultural sensitivity.
• Excellent spoken/written English; other languages are an asset (e.g., Hebrew, Arabic, Turkish).
