Overview

CD PROJEKT RED is looking for a talented and passionate Senior Gameplay Designer (AI) to join our team and help us develop a new game in the Witcher Saga. You will play a crucial role in developing AI behaviors for NPCs and enemies to provide engaging, fun, and challenging encounters and interactions. You will also act as a mentor and expert resource in all AI-related matters.

Daily Responsibilities

• Design and implementation of AI subsystems.
• Collaborate with designers, programmers and other project stakeholders to develop and refine mechanics that enhance player immersion and satisfaction.
• Design and prototype unique enemy, NPC and character companion behaviors, reactions, abilities and weaknesses for humans and monsters.
• Iterate on AI behavior through playtesting and feedback to create engaging and dynamic experiences.
• Create clear and detailed documentation for AI subsystems.
• Act as a subject matter expert, mentoring the team.

Qualifications

• At least 6 years of professional experience in a similar role, preferably in RPG/Action titles with melee-oriented combat.
• Proven success in creating compelling and innovative gameplay mechanics.
• Understanding of programming/scripting in AI design and experience with game editors and game design tools.
• Experience in working with Unreal Engine 4 and/or Unreal Engine 5.
• Openness to receiving and giving feedback about your work.
• Ability to include others in the design process.
• Mentoring experience.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-disciplinary teams and openness for changes & experimentation.
• Passion for games and a good sense of humor is appreciated.

• Hybrid: working from our Warsaw studio.
